Patton Oswalt in St. Louis

Anybody else going? Since this is the only time in the past 4 years that P.O.'s been within like 12 hours of me (excluding the 10 min or so set at the Hedberg tribute, which rocked), the wife and I had to go. What's there cool to do in St. Louis? We only have the afternoon and early evening to kill (tickets to the late show), but we want to see the best. I've been there a few times, but never long enough to check out the local color.

Here's my brief recap with a few grainy ass pictures (gotta get myself a decent digital!).

I went to the late show, the lady and I weren't having much luck in the casino, so we joined the line (group of 4 drunk guys who had gone to the early show and were now just standing drinking in line). We chatted with said drunk guys for the hour or so before the doors opened. Apparently the early show was made awkward by the VIPs, a bunch of casino regulars whose used and abused player's cards had earned them tickets for a comedy show, who all sat in the front 3 rows. Having watched the theatre empty out earlier we were surprised at the, uhh, variety of patrons who poured down the stairs.
At 9:05 or so they opened the doors. We quickly grabbed seats on the aisle on stage right second row. People started to shuffle into the venue which seated about 400-500. A few beers later and a few spins of the absolutely hideous muzak mix and we were ready to roll. There was an MC of sorts whose main job was to remind us about all the wonderful shows they had hosted and had coming up... ("who's planning on going to Joan Rivers next month? Eh?"), then it was time.
Patton opened with the now infamous mega-leg bit, then blasted through an hour and twenty minutes (or so) of piss your pants funny material. The only other older joke in his set was his story about his chapped penis being destroyed by his jogging on a treadmill. The rest of the planned set (he did Dr. Pepper by request) was new material but already very polished. Rest assured that in 6 months when his next special or CD comes out you'll be repeating "Naked puzzle basement" to yourself and giggling yourself silly. Patton didn't stick around to sign anything, which was a bit of a bummer (my wife and I are trying to collect signatures of everyone on our CDR cd), but I really can't complain. Patton put on a show well worth the two nights in a hotel and the 8 and a half hour drive (each way) that we put into it. Also, my wife won 40 bucks on slots and video poker.
