The Milwaukee Comedy Festival is the largest annual comedy event in the Greater Milwaukee Area, and possibly in all of Wisconsin! Founded in 2006 to bring comedians together to strengthen and expand the existing comedy scene in Milwaukee, the fest aspires to create an active comedy environment where audiences and performers alike are having a great time.
About The Festival
This year, accepted teams will receive a 25 or 40 minute performance slot. Two great opportunities exist for additional stage time: Festival participants can be in the late-night Improv Jam, where different performers are split into improv teams, hopefully with people they have never played with before! Also, groups are encouraged to submit video sketches for the Sketch Video Showcase, which features the top videos throughout the festival weekend!
Why Milwaukee?
Word has been spreading fast in the comedy world - "The Milwaukee Comedy Festival is the place to be!" Our goal is to make sure the audience AND the performers are having a great time. What's the point of putting a comedy show on if no one is having fun? We do our best to accommodate our performers by offering food and beverages from festival sponsors backstage, free admission to festival shows, reduced hotel rates and "free couch space", visiting performers packets including maps and area accommodations and a friendly staff and great performance venue.
Submission Information
We are looking for professional comedy teams including: sketch, long and short form improv, music comedy and video sketches. High school and college teams are also encouraged to apply. The Milwaukee Comedy Festival will showcase the top comedic talent. Chosen video sketch submissions will be included in the Sketch Video Showcase. The late-night Improv Jam, a unique and highly anticipated event, will take performers from different teams and mix them up for a late night improv show. This is an opportunity for comedians from all over the country to take the stage together on Saturday night.
