Attention future stars in the San Diego area!

Recent bay area transplant aspiring career comic looking to start a NEW open-mic night style event in SD. I have my eye on a couple venues that would suit my/our purposes but wanted to take an informal survey of local talents to see if the interest was out there to expand beyond existing open mics. AST of course being the benchmark of quality in the comedy nerd community.

That's really the long and the short. Anybody in SD, or willing to come from elsewhere, to help build the rep of a burgeoning open-mic night hopefully turning into a monthly to bi-monthly variety show of sorts.

Whistle Stop Bar has a stage and a seeming laid back attitude towards the shenanigans that go on there, they have a knitting night fer fucks sake, so that's the one I'm pinning the bulk of my hopes on.

I would go. Are you looking at any other venues in that area?

My old band played there once. Cool vibe. Might be an interesting room for comedy for sure. PM me when you nail down a night. the only thing is that if people aren't there for comedy at first, it could be rough...but we'd be down!

I've tried to bring as much new material as possible and I hope everyone who came to see me headline in July will still be surprised by some stuff.
