"This is not the Beach Boys. It can't be. Why? No beach songs! I thought it was some kind of joke. All 'Pet Sounds' offers is the opportunity to hear Brian Wilson whine for forty minutes, backed by elevator music. There's barely any Mike Love on the album at all."
I was wondering. Should our entries for the new theme song be in .MP3 or .WAV ?
FLAAAAC!!!!!!!!

A MESSAGE FROM JON
Hello -
I have been advised by several people not to comment on the current situation regarding "Wake Up AST" and my recent dismissal from the show. However, I feel that my fans and listeners deserve a full account of the events that transpired and resulted in my being asked not to return to the show.
When I was first approached by the producer of "Wake Up AST" and asked whether I'd be interested in filling in as host, I of course jumped at the chance. "Wake Up AST" was and continues to be a great show, and I knew that my sensibilities would be a good match. That was six years ago. Since that time I've grown to consider myself a close member of the "Wake Up AST" family, and in truth I've never considered the possibility that anyone would be as good a guest host as I have been. I am totally dedicated to the show and want nothing more than for it to succeed. I am always grateful when fans approach me to tell me that they listen to the show, as it lets me know that I am reaching people and making a difference.
During my time as the regular guest host I have developed a good working relationship with the show's host and its producer, Kate. Kate is a consummate professional and one of the best podcast producers I have ever worked with, and I hope to work with her again at some point in the future. I have never felt any pressure to do or not do a particular segment on the show, and as a result I feel that I've crafted a unique kind of podcast experience that speaks with my voice while still retaining the popular and successful elements of the regular "Wake Up AST." The live broadcast from an upright piano factory remains one of my favorite pieces of anything I've ever done, and I know my guest that day, Mark Russell, feels the same way.
I have always tried to be entertaining and engaging in all of my broadcasting endeavors, both as a guest host of "Wake Up AST" and on my regular "pod cast," "Gardening Pros and Prose with Jon." The regular host of "Wake Up AST" apparently no longer feels that I am succeeding in that, and that saddens me greatly, in part because I know that I am doing a better job than ever. I would ask all fans of "Wake Up AST" who have enjoyed my appearances on that show to let the producers and host know how they feel by not listening to or downloading the next episode. Perhaps you can show them that it is truly the fans who should decide what a show should sound like.
Finally, any fans who did enjoy me as a podcast host may continue to hear me on "Gardening Pros and Prose with Jon," now available on wireless internet (check with your city planner to see if wireless internet is available in your area).
Thank you, and "hey, these aren't my blueberries!"
Jon
I for one will miss jon greatly. From his inauspicious start as "Chubbs the Intern," he blossomed as a regular and was a vital part of some of my favorite moments from WUAST. Who could forget the jokes he made about the death of fellow broadcaster Don Geronimo's wife Freda in 2005? Or his character, "Special O'gimpics," the drunken Irish paralympic silver medalist?
Of course, what made jon a consummate professional was the way he could take it as well as he could dish it out. I still chuckle at time the gang actually convinced him that he was going to go to prison for tax fraud.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm going to miss "Fartin' Jon," and I'll be sure to listen in to his new show.
I'm glad to see Jon go, who needs him??
I really hope "Name That Gag Reel" becomes a regular segment. Classic how it took them so long to figure out the last one was from Liar Liar.
After reading Jon's letter, I went back and listened to the Joe Rogan episode where he played clips of Jon and Pinkhamster back to back and confronted Jon with it.
It still blows me away that Jon's defense was so iron-clad that Rogan left show business for 2 years...
Hey, check me out. I'm a ghost.
I always found jon to be boring
I don't do a radio show anymore, so stop asking (nobody asked)
Jon's descriptions of paint drying always left me riveted.
S.W.A.S.S. points, no deductions!
oh okay yeah now i know who jon is
goood christ christ christ christ

On the other hand, I found the whole chubacabra intermission slightly amusing.
