Just saw the last episode, great one, and a great season.

The whole discussion about the whether the show has a plot or not is insignificant, the show is groundbreaking.
most shows today just revolve around a mystery, or finding out why/what/who happened. Treme is definitely a nice change from those kind of "plot" shows

Or maybe Food & Music. He's a little over the top with the food dialogue (are locals really that proud of po' boys?), but I've enjoyed watching people eat.

The Katrina flashback was a rewarding payoff. It's taken me all season to feel hooked on watching; that montage did it.

That yellow indian suit was mind blowing.

I finally watched the finale last night, the flashback to pre-Katrina was great and it really drove home the whole situation with Khandi Alexander's character missing her brother's phone call and the guilt she was/is feeling. Then her dancing in the second line was really moving (emotionally).

This is a wiki write-up of the book, The Moviegoer, that Creighton was reading in the motel room.

The loose plot of the novel follows Binx as he embarks on an undefined "search," wandering around New Orleans, Chicago and the Gulf Coast reflecting philosophically on small episodes and interactions. He is constantly challenged to define himself in relation to friends, family, lovers and career despite his urge to remain vague and open to possibility.

When I would watch The Wire, I would always sit and fear that somebody was going to get shot and killed. When they showed that shot of Sonny stumbling down that street in the shadows I was praying he would get jumped and killed -- for whatever reason. I like the actress that plays Annie, but that whole storyline ate balls and started to become a huge drag. It's the first time I have ever watched an HBO show and wondered, Did the producers or HBO want a good-looking young couple on the show to boost ratings? I hope Sonny is gone next season.

Those two were the only characters I actively hated. She was too meek and doe-eyed and he was just an asshole. I don't think they added anything to the show (with the exception of some awesome fiddling). But we know Annie will be back, maybe I'll like her better with Davis.

It's weird but I almost feel like there shouldn't even be a second season. That whole show and especially the finale felt pretty complete to me.

I can't wait for this to return, I loved the first season and thought it got unfairly overlooked by both the Emmys and Golden Globes. As long as they keep focusing on the characters and don't try to overly dramatize everything because of the complaints about the first season feeling plotless, I'll be happy. And Sonny needs to go.

    Season 2 starts Sunday!
I swear, if I hadn't picked up a copy of the Hollywood Reporter at work, I wouldn't have known. I watched Game of Thrones on Sunday and didn't see a promotion for it.

This show should have a worse reputation than "John from Cincinnati."

Considering how Game of Thrones posters outnumber Treme ones 10-to-1 in NYC, it almost seems like HBO is embarassed that it renewed Treme.

    It's back!

The first episode was solid but essentially just exposition, reintroducing us to the characters and setting up what they're up to this season. Perfect ending though -- David Morse briefly connecting with this random oddball in a jester costume and telling him "don't ever change", can't think of a better way to firmly reestablish what a uniquely weird and wonderful place New Orleans is and how nice it is to be back in it with these characters.

My good friend AC Thompson is the real guy behind the reporter character on this season. He was also a consultant. It's very exciting for me. Of course the actor playing him is 15 years younger than he was at the time.

I thought that was this one. That's awesome. The show itself is almost worth it for the music alone.
