I've downloaded over, so far, 7 gigs for freeleech weekend. I looooove this site!

Funfile just ended a 2 week free leech period...my God, I've never felt the need to download HD movies and TV shows like I did then. I don't know how I was ever able to enjoy any standard definition/DSRip shows.

I loooooove any site during a free leech period.

EDIT: I just requested more invites from FunFile because I handed out the two I had, and they were cool enough to give me 4 more (The advantages of being a good user). One of the four is gone, and another one is being held for someone who expressed interest, so if you want one of the remaining invites, let me know ASAP.

Anyone remember the amazing tracker somethingawful.com had years ago? It is quite an impressive tale of a message board forum that evolved into a "secret" torrent tracker called WDMA.biz. That group of users would post the most obscure and great stuff I have ever found on the web. There seemed to be literally nothing that couldn't be procured by at least one of the users.

I registered around early 2003, and yes, it was fucking fantastic and easily the best tracker I've ever been on (with the exception of music, I feel Oink was better for that).

I have 2 invites to what.cd, I'll trade that shit for a waffles invite.

The What.CD Torrent site, has for a limited time, provided a convenient way for our members to receive a What.CD invitation. The wildly popular private music tracker, has a varied selection of music, including nearly 300,000 torrents. The torrents are in various formats including FLAC, 320, V0 and V2 among others
What.CD has been kind enough to offer an official way for those interested, and either have the requisite technical knowledge, or a willingness to learn; to acquire an invite.

There is a team of people of status, on What.CD who interview newcomers to their IRC Channel, and issue invites those who demonstrate the requisite knowledge. Subjects covered include, but are not limited to, digital audio formatting and transcoding, encoding and general torrent experience.
Those who are unable to demonstrate the required general knowledge of music transcoding and music torrents, will be directed to the proper knowledge base(s) and given another chance for an invite, after a pre-determined period of time.

What will you need to know for the interview

The interview is in place for us to get to know you and to test your technical understanding of audio related information.
This way we can judge whether you will be worth inviting, or not... We hope you are
Each interviewer will usually have their own questions to ask you, but the general topics covered will be the same.



We will test your knowledge of the following

• Audio codecs and formats
• Lossy / Lossless encodings
• Bitrates
• Transcodes (What is / isn’t acceptable, How to detect bad transcodes)

These are some of the things we want our invitees to know as it will help them ALOT on the site! But don’t be frightened away just yet if you don’t know this stuff! You can learn! The Hydrogen Audio Wiki is a great resource for the aspiring What.cd’er. It has nearly all the information you’ll need to pass the interview with flying colours. Don’t be afraid to research elsewhere! Some questions asked will have to do with things like internet speed, collection, potential use of site, etc. So please have a speedtest.net result handy in .PNG format. Also obtain some screenshots of your ratios on other private sites , if you belong to them.

Hey guys, does anyone else have a problem with connecting to TheBox torrents? I was able to register, and I was able to browse torrents, and I was able to download torrents, but for some reason, I haven't seen a single seeder or leecher come across my BitComet since I started the torrents two days ago. And TheBox showed seeds and leeches on these torrents. I even tried their most heavily seeded torrent, the new Doctor Who Christmas episode, and got nothing after several hours. Is there something I'm supposed to do?

SHEEPISH EDIT: Never mind guys, figured it out, BitComet's a banned client from TheBox, so I switched to Azureus (which is apparently called Vuze now) and it's all working.
