It's about giving Doug less(no) dumb joke posts to filter through so he can answer people's questions and or the poster is providing new pertinent information about the topic.
What if there were a thread for talking about Doug Loves Movies and then a separate thread for talking to Doug about Doug Loves Movies?

Maybe someone should feel lucky that so many people enjoy their comedy and are willing to have fun talking about it. Just another way to look at it, you know?
Also it seems frustrating for a mod or mods to have to keep policing, when no one is really aware of what they are doing wrong. Jay said it concisely, maybe everyone should read that. That seems to be the problem, as well as ill communication.

There's probably no good place to put "rules" that everyone will read no matter what. My solution is, listen to and trust me instead of arguing every little fucking thing like a smart aleck.

Reading (or scrolling past) a post on a message board by a fan of yours is far from being indulgent. God forbid someone posts something that doesn't stick to the exact posting regulations Doug Benson made up in his head.
In any event, we all have a choice to post or not post in there. Everyone should do what they feel comfortable with.
Similarly, Doug Benson is under no obligation to act delighted by inane comments, references and "constructive criticism" by the same four or five people. If you have a problem with Doug, who is the only comedian making the choice to keep a regular presence on this site (which is something he doesn't need to do, which is something to be appreciated), wanting to have some simple, self evident rules in his threads, then it's you who has the problem.
