Not the end of the world. The season will be paced slower than last season and they'll make the playoffs with a healthy KL.

The fact that the T-Wolves have Kirilenko & Derrick Williams, rather than Beasley means they should still be fine. Hopefully they can still make the playoffs, though it'll be close.

The simple fact is that god hates both me and the Timberwolves. We had a shot at the playoffs last year before Rubio went down, and now we have to play the first month without Love or Rubio. Not nice, god. Not nice at all.

Derrick Williams has his shot to prove himself right now. Pekovic has looked like a monster in pre-season and there is hope Roy's knees will last a month. All I want is a .500 team at Christmas.

Harden traded! (For Kevin Martin, Lamb and picks)

I'll say it: smart move by OKC. They couldn't afford to keep him past this year, so rather than deal with drama and distraction all year, they got a very good player, a (presumably) promising rookie and lots of picks. That's as good as it was going to get for them. And given that Harden was their sixth man, this will not hurt much -- I mean, they're getting another starter-level player in exchange, so the bench will remain strong.

By the same token I think Houston is better with Harden than Martin. Everybody wins!

    Re: Sporots

This trade makes basketball sense for both teams. The only question is whether this will affect the chemistry in OKC. I think they'll be fine, but those 3 guys (Westbrook, Durant, and Harden) are like brothers. Personally, I think exchanging Harden's production for that of Kevin Martin and a really promising rookie in Lamb is brilliant. It's gives them a 20 point scorer and a young replacement in case something goes wrong, and for less money than the max contract Harden wanted.

And now we can look forward to the beard competition between Harden and Royce White for years to come!

I hate to break it to you, but Royce White is bat-shit crazy and will not be in the league for very long.

Batshit craziness rarely stopped anyone from a decent career in the NBA. Also, he seems to be very open and pro-active in dealing with his mental health problems and the Rockets seem to be very supportive too. I hope we get to see how good he can be. I always get excited about a big guy with PG skills.

In the aftermath of the trade, I bet the T Wolves are regretting the stupid Kevin Love contract even more.

I'm not sure I'd call a fear of flying/general anxiety batshit crazy. He says the time he mostly feels at peace is when he's on the court. Obviously a fear of flying when you play for a professional basketball team isn't helpful, but I wouldn't say he's crazy. He's no Metta World Peace.

He was charged with assault/theft and stealing a laptop from a dorm while at Minnesota and seems to have been an all round disruptive force, which I guess is what Tim is getting at. He puts his bad behaviour down to undiagnosed panic attacks and anxiety but who knows? But he was crazy good at Iowa St. I'm optimistic that he can be decent in the NBA.

Within about 6 months here in Minnesota he was charged with stealing a laptop and either a fight or another theft at the Mall of America... he did something else too. Tubby gave him a bunch of breaks, because he's so talented. He was weird in high school too. I think it's a bit deeper than being scared of airplanes.

I think it's the flying that scares him, which would be related to helplessness etc. Not the airplane itself.

Royce White is young and has identified his problem and is meeting it head on. I'd say he has a good chance to buck the craziness and become a very solid NBA player. I'll definitely be rooting for him.

Imagine if Ron Artest addressed his mental health when he was 21! And yet, he's still in the league in his 30s.

I know you're all basketball dudes, but did anyone else watch the Arsenal-Reading game today? It was the most exciting thing!

So, Houston will be disappointed with that trade if Harden keeps stinking it up like that.

Haha, even my Lin pick is looking better now that he has Harden to pass to.

Here's 37 points and 11 assists that say you're wrong. (Granted, against the Piss-tons).

Speaking of soccer, FOX lost the Premier League to NBC on Friday. What does this mean for my job? Who cares!

Gotta love the sports world all going into panic mode now that the Lakers are 0-2. It's a 2 game losing "streak" at the beginning of the season. Everything is going to be fine. Just give them like 30 games or something. Sheesh.
