Tags are not a toy, people. Stop it immediately. It's such a sadness that we will never know who started it. I would personally like to wring his neck.

What?
How bout that chat?
Yes, how about it? I don't see any improvement in site smoothness without it.
Haven't we twisted in the wind long enough?
If I can play the disapproving father for a moment, after the chat was removed, not a single person offered to help or expressed support. Instead, you all cried and complained and started asking when it was coming back. I (and the other mods) do not get paid for this. It's a volunteer position, and things get done when we can (or feel like) do(ing) them. I said the chat will return, and it will, but until then, enough.
If I can play the rebellious son for a moment, I told Isos that we'd be willing to pay to help with the hosting fees or have it set up on another server. This may not have gotten to you, but understand that we are very appreciative of the work you have put into this and if we knew of some other way to help, we would. Sorry if we were getting antsy.

Meen Bellpeppers: btw only idoits make typoes
If I could play the son of questionable sexual orientation for a moment, I would like to request that my "roommate" be able to come over for Thanksgiving dinner.
Arch can barely type properly, I don't think we want him in charge of setting up another server for the chat.
posting 30 times a day has been working fine for me, no need to rush.
also, if I knew how to program a flash chat I would of started my own comedy empire by now. (The store would all be CDs of me impersonating other comedians, but at half price)

If I could play the son that was aborted many years ago, "Why did you kill me?!!!!"
Hey, check me out. I'm a ghost.
I want to be the goofy neighbor. And the overbearing aunt.
Our server/host problems have pretty much gone away since we removed the chat, and I don't really want to tempt fate by bringing it back, as I'm pretty certain that was the cause of our CPU overages. The cost for a virtual private server is pretty ludicrous, so I'd rather find an alternative. I admit it's not a priority for me, but I welcome any help from the AST chatter community in finding a viable alternative to the flash chat (I know, nothing beats flash chat, but it seems like it just demands too much of the server).
What to look for: something that integrates with vBulletin but doesn't have to run on our server -- maybe an IRC- or Jabber-based program?
If you guys find something that will work, we will install it and give it a try. Or, if the solution ends up being off-site, we will add a link to it in our menu so that others can find it.
Let's all just wait for google wave godamnit
Trying to add my video "Corporate Headquarters Improv Group: The Three Bakers" to the news forum, but it's telling me I don't have access. Could somebody else please post this to the AST front page for me, please? Thanks.
