Hi, I was getting ready to start a thread, and thought what I was seeking to do might be better addressed as a site suggestion.

I'll be attending the Metalocalypse show at the Chicago Aragon show in October, and was wondering who else from AST would be also there.

I was going to a create a generic "Meetup" thread for Chicago, where members could say what shows they were going to, etc.

I thought that much better than this would be a way of indicating what shows one would be attending in the show listing subforum.

Kind of along the lines of "Did you like this post?", but instead it would be "Will you be attending this event?"

You could make whoever said "Yes" public, so they could talk to each other off-list, and potentially meet at the show, hang out, etc.

I don't know, it would seem to be a nice mechanism on AST to foster a sense of community, support comedy, etc.

I like that idea Jawa. It would probably put an end to all the "I"m in such-and-such city tell me what to do" threads which can be a lot of fun; but I think it would help foster community on the board.

I also was hoping that if you liked someone's post it didn't take you the beginning of a thread. It's like you're punishing us for supporting people. Someone brought it up before and I was hoping it'd be fixed by now.

Here's a suggestion from the admins to the users; stop replying to spam. We're just going to delete it, and it's a waste on all fronts to reply to it.

What up with threads that say they have new posts, tell you who the new post is from, but when you click on go to first new post, it goes to the top of the last page and the new post isn't there?

the 'What are you listening to?' thread is currently doing this.

i think it has something to do with deleted posts, just like with doug's q&a thread when it got purged of the canadian incident hoo-ha. like the new post is the first on a new page, or last one before a break. i've noticed it before and the "new" post doesn't show up until another reply has been posted afterwards.
