Please, no cartoon t-shirt requests. Any thoughts on the new Melvins album?

I like it, but I'm an unapologetic Melvins fan. They seem to be getting less "heavy" with age, which isn't my favorite thing in the world, but there are still a few tracks where I do the old horned hand, leg kick, headbang.

I love the new Melvins album, can't wait to see them next month, and I'm really looking forward to the new Big Business album
I enjoy some of the Melvins' stuff, but they are pretty fortunate to hail from Aberdeen, WA. I think it was one of the guys from Mudhoney who said something along the lines of "I am convinced there is a segment of our audience who come to our shows strictly because we knew Kurt Cobain." I'm not knocking the band's musical output(a lot of it has been very good), I just find this to be an interesting phenomenon.
I think Kurt was pretty fortunate that the Melvins were from Aberdeen (technically, Montesano, next town over).
Give me forty six... give me forty five... weeping... jack belt loaded... hiiiiiiiigh...
The Melvins stand on their own two legs just fine. I did like A Senile Animal more than the latest, but I don't think I'll ever like a Melvins album more than I liked Stag.
I like the Melvins CD "Nude With Boots." I was trying to simply sum it up to my roomate and came up with that they moved down on the neck of the guitar, sorta out of their comfort range. I know, i am a poet, still a good album, cant wait to see them in Chicago and how the new record sounds live, hopefully Jello Biafra will show up again...
I will request ALL of the cartoon t-shirts I want. NO GODS, NO MASTERS.
Ahem. The metal.
I love The Melvins. I don't really think of them as a metal band, really, but they're not not either. Sort of like Zeppelin. Not band company to keep.
Anyway, in the latest issue of LA Weekly, King Buzzo makes the point that they could be better perceived as an L.A. band, really.
But who cares?
First Metal Church album was awesome, and half of the second one. I'll stand by that. I'll stand by these albums, too.

You missed this one: 21 Gothenburg, Sweden Lisebergshallen
I'm off to get tickets. I actually had Hunting Girl going through my head as I fell asleep last night.
As for actual Metal, I'm eagerly awaiting the sophomore release from Enter The Hunt. I thought the debut was one of the best albums of 2006 and rumor has it that everything that was great about that album will be ratched up a notch for the second album. I can't wait.
Edited to say: maybe I won't go see Tull this time. They will be playing primarily material from their first three bluesy albums This Was, Stand Up and Benefit. Eh.
