Reese Witherspoon: Comedic Actress or Actress in a Comedy

Might be just me but I think Reese does her best work in comedies and is fairly believable as the blonde even though she clearly has range. Thoughts?

    Election was terrific.

I see a lot of potential in her too.

I'm not really sure about comedic actresses in movies, but on television there are quite a few talented and funny women.

Her work in "All That" was oscar-worthy.

It's true that they make her (Bynes) fall down a lot, make faces and burst out of dressing rooms in different outfits while dancing, but she's got very funny delivery and timing. IMO.

I've always been a little creeped out by how obviously sexual Bynes has been pushed to look. The first time I was ever aware of her was in 2002's Paul Giamatti paycheck flick, "Big Fat Liar." She must have been in her early teens and was tarted up, complete with tank tops and miniskirts. I've had a bad taste in my mouth about her ever since, although I doubt she had much to do with it. I'm sure she's talented. I'm aware my sentiment makes me sound like a bitter old man. By the way, you kids stay off my lawn.

re: Witherspoon - I think she's a good actress in the right role, although romantic comedies are usually like poison to me. Also, I found the "Legally Blonde" flicks to be reprehensible crimes against humanity. But she was great in "Election."

EDIT: Upon further inspection of her IMDB profile, it looks like Bynes was 16 when "Big Fat Liar" was released, meaning she was about 15/16 when it was shot. I guess nowadays it's not uncommon to have teenage girls dress as masturbatory fodder, but it still creeped me out.
