    R.I.P. Julius Carry III

    Who's that you ask?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnsg0jDbHk4

He died on August 20th at the age of 56 of unspecified reasons. He was the meanest, prettiest, baddest mofo low-dow around this town, shogun of Harlem - Sho'nuff in 1985's The Last Dragon. He also played Lord Bowler in The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

He was one of my favorite dudes and I didn't even realize it until now.

He was great on Brisco County (a show that I had forgotten how much I enjoyed until I recently rewatched it on DVD).

    This is too bad.

    OH NO LORD BOWLER!!!!

Brisco County was my favorite show as a kid and Bowler was my favorite character. I rewatched the show last year and still really enjoyed it. This makes me sad.

The insane thing is just yesterday, spurred on by nothing, I looked for and watched this clip:

    RIP, Julius.

    Fuck. I am sad.

My favorite Lord Bowler/ Brisco exchange and a line I still manage to work in EVERY chance I get.

Brisco "Nice crystal is that Lalique?"
Bowler "Are you stupid that's Baccarat, everybody knows Lalique is frosted!"
