In addition to sleeping with/on me like a teddy bear every night, Sasha does this thing where she firmly smooshes her face into what can only be referred to as my "elbow pit" and keeps it there for up to ten minutes. Purring like mad. It's one of the greatest things on earth. As I type this, her head is resting on my arm like a pillow.

This is a pet that cannot be for me but would be great for you. This clearly domesticated but escaped (abandoned?) cat has started hanging around our house. We would take him in but for the fact that we already have one cat that we are allergic to. If you live in the New York area and are interested, we're willing to take on getting him his shots and getting him fixed. We are already feeding him and hoping that if he can't get adopted out, he will become a part of the small feral colony we already feed. He is a really sweet, affectionate older kitten (7-8 months?).

He came up to me on the street and let me pet and carry him right away. Seriously, this is a great cat.

You named your cat after me, but spelled it wrong. I'm both flattered and disappointed.

Are you sure you didn't just steal someone's cat?
What was the best concert you've been to?

"Probably Sade. It was just so sexy and relaxing."

Do you fix the feral kitties you feed?

We feed this baby. She's a year old and we've known her since she was a kitten. "Belongs" to the people up the street but they don't let her in during the winter (she used to go into our other neighbor's house) and now they ignore her completely. We are the only ones who feed her. She's going to the Defenders of Animal Rights (no kill shelter) this winter if I still see her outside.

Like your kitty, Charles, she's the most affectionate thing.

Nope. But we asked around and didn't see any signs about a lost pet.

For good (it is a good thing) or ill (we are probably now classifiable as "crazy cat people"), yes. We TNR'd the rest of the ferals in the yard. We hadn't gotten around to fixing this one yet but think we've found a home for her.

I don't have a photo but today my parents came to visit and they brought a brand new puppy!

I joked about how the last time they got a new puppy it was while I was away at summer camp as a kid and they'd done it because they'd just given away my old dog without telling me.

They exchanged nervous glances and then turned to me with these huge guilty smiles.

So, yeah, I'm out another dog but this new one is very cute and I'm older now so I'm not scarred as badly! (My parents are dicks!)

    OMG Sparkiepop's GP!!!

Also, how can people ignore their pets? Keep them tied up outside all the time, don't pay attention to them? I don't get it. So heartless... I cannot conceive of acting this way.

I just found this guy all dried up and dead (I thought) but it turns out he's still kickin. I put him on a plate with some water and cucumber. Submerged him in water a couple of times to see if he'd swim but he just sank to the bottom of the bowl. Any advice? He's not moving or eating the cucumber -- just opens and closes his eyes and moves his head a little.

I can't figure out how to post a picture on AST. Can only give the link. Sorry.

Mod edit: I got this one, Martha.

Is there a vivarium anywhere near where you live? I'd check the yellow pages.
