The Obama quote is out-of-context, but I'd like to see the full Katie Couric line. That seems even more fishy.
So far in the three speech sections and on Countdown since the DNC, Obama has been noticably marble-mouthed. I wonder whats the deal..
Hmmm how was it legal to put 3 voting machines in black districts when they had 20k voters? Obama needs to take the gloves off and call these Republicans what they are - the fucking devil.
One thing everyone needs to understand is that Rove/Cheney/Bush have a significant interest in winning this campaign. If they don't there's a good chance they are going to jail and possibly face the death penalty for their crimes. There is NOWHERE they will not go to steal this election.
Couric has been in the bag for the Republicans for a long time now, how do you think such a political lightweight got the most prestigious post in network news?
GE, NBC's parent company has made billions selling jet engines to the government for the war in Iraq. But of course I'm sure you are aware of that because NBC discloses that fact every time they do a story on the war, don't they?
I've never been much for conspiracy theories, but the more this election unfolds, the more it seems like ALL of the media, down to local news, is determined to make this election appear close enough, so that when the Diebold machines do their job and throw the election, people aren't so surprised that they demand a real investigation (same play book as last time).
The local, bay area news, last night, teased the headline, "Obama said he didn't MEAN to insult Sarah Palin, but McCain demands an apology". If you knew nothing about this story, would you ever guess it was a complete load of out-of-context bullshit?
And how about that hard hitting Palin coverage? I've seen more elegant blowjobs in pirated hobo porn videos.
Fuck my country.
Here's McCain using the same quote when discussing Hillary Clinton's campaign:
Are these people even human? The other day Obama said, "They must think you're stupid." You know what? America is stupid and shit like this works.
You know why McCain will probably win the election? Because last week in America, Slipknot had the #1 album and Bangcock Dangerous was the #1 movie.
I watched it. Yep, its depressing.
So why doesn't Obama respond with an ad explaining the situation and tell the people that these are the tactics the republicans stoop to because that party does in fact think the American public is stupid and that they use these diversionary ploys because they don't want to discuss any real issues because they have no plans for the country beyond their own self-interest. It seems like the only response would be outrage by the public for being lied to and treated like morons, resulting in a landslide victory for Obama.
Problem solved America.
No?
What was the best concert you've been to?
"Probably Sade. It was just so sexy and relaxing."
It's all spin Harry, this thing will die in a couple days on it's own and they'll move onto the next smear campaign. If Obama addresses it, the thing just drags on even longer in the endless spin cycle of talk radio and pundit shows.
The smart thing to do would be for them to make an identical spot using the McCain clip Droog just posted. Throw it right back in their face. They're still trying to court the Hillary supporters, and they could frame it in the same way... like he was calling Hillary a pig.
The thing is, this all smacks of desperation on their part. The sad thing is this kind of stuff worked in the last election.
GWB skipped out on his Air National Guard duty while Kerry actually served in Vietnam and they made it seem like Kerry was a pussy who didn't serve.
McCain connects bridge collapse in Minnesota to the Bridge To Nowhere. Palin said no to the bridge, but she kept the money

There was a re-run of a Daily Show last night and Howard Dean was on. Jon Stewart asked him when they were going to start using McCain video from the past compared to now to fight back... Dean said there's plenty of time for that.... to which Stewart said, "When, December?"
I'm starting to fear that the people running this campaign don't know what the hell they are doing. This McCain clip needs to get out ASAP as it will not only squash the Obama thing, but sway these "Hillary" people.
Ah, fuck it. I'm just going to stop paying attention. It pisses me off and there's nothing I can do about it.
Yeah the Democrats have never had really good timing when it comes to smear campaigns.
Remember when the story about Bush's DUI broke on the eve of the election?
That made absolutely no difference. And I am scared that the Democrats are going to put out all of these negative ads a few days before the election, rather than a few weeks...and then scratch their heads wondering why it didn't influence anyone.
It is really very simple, there is a certain group of undecideds, moderates, or plain ignorant people who are swayed by negative attacks during the campaign season. It sucks, but it is true. If the Democrats could just accept that as the truth and then use those same tactics they might have a shot at winning.
Obama's limp-armed "centralized media effort" really has a lot of Democrats nervous right now, which is why he is now scrambling to resurrect the 527s that he mistakenly cut off at the knees earlier this year.
Rays of hope.
According to 538's aggregate polling with weights and balances, Obama still has 273 electoral votes. That's with him losing Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and Nevada and winning Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Hampshire and Colorado of the battleground states. The margins are slim. But thats worrisome for both sides.
What scares me is how quickly Democrats are to say it's over. I get it, especially after 8 years of wondering how you even fit into the country. Whats troublesome about it is that if Hillary supporters aren't going to fund Obama, excessive negativity is doubly bad for Obama since he gets a lot of his money from small donors.
How exactly does Sarah Palin represent feminism?
From now on, for the rest of my life, I'm going to only refer to it as a "bo-gina".
Finally, something good comes from this election. Thanks Tim.
