I like catching parts of conversations out of context. Here's two I caught recently.
2 guys, 20ish walking down the street:
"Dude, I totally partied with Yo Yo Ma."
Not sure if he was bragging about hanging with a celloist or had a stutter and was trying to insult the other guy's mother.
A group of girls, 20s:
"If that's true then why don't all Mexicans have butthole cancer?"
No idea what fact she was trying to refute with that theory.
Anyone else care to share?
My overheard in passing is pretty boring so far today:
Sorority Girl: You asshole!
That's about it.
Crazy guy on a bus: "Can't save the family..."
He said this maybe 15-20 times while rocking back and forth. Raises a lot more questions than it answers.
at a gas station.... "They say he's the first, but Tiger's half oriental isn't he?"

I've tweeted a few recently:
One, I was leaving my office and heard a guy on his cell phone trying to boost someone's confidence / talk them off a ledge with an inspirational "anything's possible" speech, yet his sentence structure wasn't so hot: "If you want to be United States President of America, you can do that."
Another was on a bus in Seattle in April, where an obnoxious crazy woman said, "Call me superficial. Call me shallow. I hate a nigga with ugly teeth."
Two Dominican guys talking to each other coming out of Wendys - "So the guy asked me what my profession was, and I said 'Fuck you!! That's my profession!!"

At a cafe recently I heard a woman dominating a conversation during what seemed like an internet-established first date. I caught 2 great lines:

i hope this thread proves popular enough that it has an offshoot featuring only things you hear in public restrooms called "overheard in pissing."
I also found a list of some of the crazy things one of my professors from last year said. Here are some of them.

"I hate grass. It's the most tight-assed thing you could have on your lawn."
