I hate him more than Avery, which is saying a lot.
I hate him more than Avery, which is saying a lot.
I think he was only suspended once as a Canuck. He's always been the kind of player that will look to land a hit every single time but for the first half of his career he didn't have a reputation for being dirty. His last couple of years in Vancouver he seemed to change his game from being just an aggressive checker to a pest trying to draw penalties. Once he got that reputation he seemed to spiral downward pretty quickly.
Just popping into this thread to apologize in advance to Arch for what's about to happen to his Sens...
#hubris?
Since Murray burned the team to the ground, the re building sens are 9-1-1 in their last 11. It won't be a cake walk for the Caps tonight. Anderson has been playing wicked hockey between the pipes for them.
Good luck to you guys tonight.

Right after I posted that mean and unnecessary comment (you're right Arch, it won't be a cakewalk, Ovi and Arnott are both out), I went to the NHL website and was greeted by this:
Can the NHL please at least try to hide their boner for this Snoozefest? There are so many dynamic and great players in the league, why are they making him the Tiger Woods of the NHL? That is, the only game in town, the only reason people would watch their sport, so when he goes away, it's panic time and we should celebrate because he's putting pucks in the net in fucking practice.
Disgusting.

Just popping in here to say people band wagoning behind the capitals disgust me and the only thing they are good for is clogging up the metro when I'm trying to get home.
Oh please, soon I'm going to have to ride the El through Wrigleyville during baseball season again so you're going to get no sympathy here.
Signed,
Proud Bandwagon Fan
You were saying?
I told you, they are really laying down some solid team building groundwork for next season. That's Anderson's second shut-out since joining the team 12 games ago.
That Bradley hit was nowhere near a callable offence. The outcome was unfortunate but how the hell the ref's see that as a boarding call is beyond me.
I feel like I'm personally responsible.*
*When I'm not talking about comedy on the internet, I'm officiating Senators games.
You must not have seen the game. The call was AGAINST Bradley.
(He plays for the Caps)
They lost? Great!
Fuck. Kopitar out six weeks, minimum.
Sweet, the Habs have gone 9 periods without a goal.
The Kopitar thing breaks my heart. I hope by some amazing turn of luck, the Kings get so deep that they can get him back, but I'm not a dummy.* I know that probably won't be happening.
*I'm sort of a dummy.
I am very sorry for your loss Kurt. I'm waiting on an MRI over here on my goalie....GOD FUCKING DAMNIT~!FYTWFDG IU:!!HB!!!
The player falls on Howard and scores at the same time with no call but Holmstrom can just get in the same area code as the opposition's net minder and we get a goalie obstruction penalty called, if a goal is scored on the play? Seriously NHL referees go fuck yourselves.
Still 20 straight years making the post season and this might not even be the worst thing to happen to the Wings in the final leg of the regular season. Hell, Osgood took over for Hasek in 08 and brought us home another Cup (yes, i know McDonald is no Osgood).
The Wings play the Hawks 3 times over the last 7 games and all I want is for Chicago to lose every game and not make the playoffs. Anything after that is icing...
That's some pretty selective viewing you're doing there. No obstruction call was made because DRAPER dumped Lupul on top of Howard. For it to have been a call Lupul would have had to be alone in the crease with him.
That MRI is precautionary only. I'm sure they'll have him back for the playoffs.
I guess that determines on what your definition of DUMPED is. I just watched the replay about 5 times and it seems to me that Lupul was falling on Howard before Draper made contact. Again, Holmstron has been getting goals called off A LOT this season after the goalie has made contact with him. All I want is more consistency out of the refs, that's all.
Babcock's thoughts
“I saw their guy go in the crease – Lupul went into the crease – bumped into our guy, then Draper pushed him in, and after he fell on him,” Babcock said. “I mean it’s easy for us, we saw the replay ... The part I don’t like is that when (Tomas) Holmstrom is near the net, the whistle goes and the goals are waived off, and they’re allowed to fall on the goalie. It’s one of those things that happen in hockey, and we need to make sure we’re looking after the goalies.”
