The NHL Thread

Since this year.
It's weird to see, and clearly stacked to create a false sense of home ice dominance that, (in Bettman's eyes) will hopefully translate into greater attendance in the smaller US struggling markets.
Apart from giving the home team the easy win, I don't see why it's being done. Granted, the away squads are getting ice time they might not normally be getting, but under what conditions? David and Goliath scenarios with no regular coaching staff to support them?
It's gimmicky and I don't like it.
That said, The Home Jets looked great in their 6-1 rout of the "not really Bluejackets".
What did you guys think of the first night?

Anybody know which end zone the Home team plays in at MSG for the first and third?
I'll be there in January to see the Sens vs Rangers and we want to see the Sens attacking twice.

the left side on this map is the side the rangers shoot twice at so you want to be on the other side. dont get 410-420, 320-330 etc.

Any other Sharks fans on here? I am pretty impressed with the D this year, but our 3rd/4th lines are still pretty much up in the air.

I am surprised the Flyers' reboot seems to be working. Usually trading away your two best players doesn't work, but this team is playing really well together. I fear they can't keep up Laviolette's aggressive style over the whole season and playoffs.

So on Valorie's weird fantasy pick-em team I picked every Capital besides Jason Chimera. Great call, me.

I am sick of hearing about Crosby. I think he should take the whole season off, just in case.
