    For New York UCB fans

Have you ever wondered what people look at while waiting in line for shows at the UCB theater in L.A.?

You will get some idea from the pictures that accompany this story about a man wielding samurai swords who was shot to death by a security guard while attacking guests at the Scientology Celebrity Centre this Sunday. It's directly across the street from the UCB.

The AP story describes the center as a turreted, castle-like structure even though everybody who has visited the UCB looks across the street and asks, Is that a hotel?

    Jesus.

Every time I've been to UCB jr. it was way too dark to see anything of interest across the street, and you're kind of facing the wrong way anyway.

There's a Scientology Celebrity Center on the Upper East Side. I want to say like 78th St.? It was a short walk from the Metropolitan Museum. It's got an awning.

Crazy. I've been to both spots. I think us New Yorkers have it nicer. No offence, but there is a restaurant RIGHT where the line is formed, with people sitting down, eating, in patio furniture. I would hate to eat there. So stupid.

Unless of course the food is amazing. But I would hate to be sitting down outside while a huge line of people formed right behind my back while I was eating...

Also, I think it's awesome UCBLA had byob, but it truly should be switched. 98% of the ucbny crowd either walks, takes a cab or takes a train, we should be able to byob (I do anyway). But in LA you can bring as much booze as you want, with out any one knowing it, and peel off. Too many drunk drivers in LA...
