Play on Hard, and wait until you get to the later levels. Like I said, it's not scary so much as it is stressful.

There's this one part I remember where you take an elevator downstairs, and right when you get off, there are these two angry moaning zombie things, and they come running at you, and you shoot them into pieces, but the pieces start going apeshit and crawling all over the room and you're running and setting them on fire but no matter what you do they tear your face off. It took me around 15 attempts to get through that part with limited ammo, and when I was done I felt like I had just been physically and emotionally abused.

Still great, though. And I agree about Tron's vagina.

LittleBigPlanet blew my mind today when I realized I could make my sackboy simulate masturbation in an online multiplayer game. Once I figured this out, a japanese guy who spoke no english laughed into his mic with a joy that needed no translation. I feel as if this game might be the key to everything holed up inside of me. I feel like I did when Thriller first came out. I feel excited again like I did when I used to stare at Atari game box art in 1983.

My main so far is Speech-y Science-y Doctor-y with a minor in Shooting Things In The Head. I also played as basically Doc Holliday for a couple of levels with a dude who was Medicine/Science/Cold Blooded Hyper Pistolero.

I wanted to try a melee/brawler but it is really frustrating trying to engage the long-range rifle people so I think some kind of firearms dude is the way to go.

I keep wanting to find something wrong with Dead Space, but it's really an incredible game. It rivals Bioshock in atmosphere. It's basically a game that's been done to death 1000x over, but it feels completely fresh and has some seriously jaw dropping visuals. The first time you step outside the ship into space is incredible.

I ended up playing for nearly 3 hours yesterday. It's definitely worth checking out if you like the survival horror genre.

Much like you Tim, I want to find something wrong with Dead Space. As it has been described in this thread it is stressful and not a good way to end a tension filled day. i can find no real fault though.

I am eternally greatful for the stomp function, after just barely escaping a skirmish it is nice to be able to stomp on the corpse a couple dozen times, you know just to be sure.

Yeah, I started off as a gunslinging badass but quickly realized that after I slaughtered the entire city of Megaton after being there less than 10 minutes, that I should start over and actually try some tact and diplomacy.

This time around Megaton loves me!

That sounds just like my character, I'm starting to diversify my portfolio and starting to invest in explosives, lockpicking, and repair.

Did anybody else find it slightly annoying that in order to do certain things (hack, lockpick, etc) you would need a requisite skill level to even come to the party and attempt the hack or lockpick? I've come to begrudgingly accept it.

Yeah, that is one thing that I learned in my first brief playthrough: invest in lockpicking, thievery and explosives or there is a lot you can't do immediately.

I just finished the game yesterday, and I immediately want to play it again (they give you some incentive to do that). Things get a tiny bit repetitive towards the end, but not enough to keep this from being one of the best games I've played in years.

One word of caution - there are a couple spots where the game just kind of fucked up. Example: I was pushing something along a rail for a while on the final level, and then I got to a part that kicked my ass repeatedly. I quit out of the game and started at my last save point, but the object I was pushing would no longer go past a certain point on the rail. Luckily, I had 2 save points, went back to the beginning of the level and played through again, and it worked. If I didn't have that save point, I would have had to start the whole game over.

So, always have multiple save points.

I feel like I should've gotten Dead Space over Far Cry 2 after reading all the stuff about it. Thinking I just might just trade in Far Cry 2 for credit towards Dead Space. Or Left 4 Dead.

The developers of LBP were really looking forward to someone who could make a level that did not look like LBP. The Japanese are ahead again, this guy built the side scrolling (R-Type like) Gradius. It's pretty amazing, you don't even "control" a sackboy when you're flying your ship.

I have Small Guns-Repair-Science-Explosives, with Explosives trailing, but I was still able to disarm the Megaton bomb. I have only played a few hours and that pretty much was the first three quests in the Wasteland Survival Guide research.

I ran into the kid who needs help with the Fire Ants but they kicked my ass. So I reloaded and will go back later, I guess.

Yeah, I ran into a weird bug the first time I went into zero gravity. I am now staggering saves back and forth.

I'd love to be able to blow up safes and locked doors at least.

Also, how cool is it that the cars and trucks fireball like a motha.
