A comedy forum is the wrong place to promote non-narrative/documentary/art films - but fuck it, this community is great and supportive... plus, if Berliner can talk about fucking Capoeira...

So I was always a movie-mad kid that made my dad drive me to the nearby big city to see movies and regional film festivals. Around 16 years old I saw some classic "avant garde" or "experimental" films as shorts before a feature that broke my brain and took me into a whole different direction. I've been shooting Super 8 since I was a teenager, and 16mm since I was in college... when I started pushing 30 I finally started finishing work that was good enough to share widely. The first festival I got into was last year's New York Film Festival's Views from the Avant Garde - which is one of the biggest fests of it's kind. From there I've been in a lot of other great fests, some of which I've promoted in here... so I decided instead of starting a new thread every time I've got a screening, I'll just quarantine it all in here for those who might be interested.

Also... here's some stills from the new films. I'm (still) unemployed, so my filmmaking budget is limited. So the films are made with expired stock bought off ebay on a camera I need to have serviced. I got some nice "glitches" from having limited means.

My next "expanded cinema" screening at The Hideout will be comedy-centric, so I thought you all might enjoy it. It'll feature iO & Annoyance performer Jared Larson, as well as the very funny films of John Smith. Also involved are the US premeire of a new Shana Moulton video, a performance from filmmaker Jesse Malmed, and a performance from legendary Chicago band ONO.
