I'm thinking of the "Mum and Dad, how did you meet?" of that one true pairing.

It's moving so fast and that keeps me really interested because where the heck do they go as StrangeLight said? Although, I'm worried the next episode is just going to be one long interrogation scene that only moves the plot forward in the last one minute cliffhanger.

I can't wait for the inevitable interrogation scene between Carrie and Brody. The dynamic between these two is so fascinating.
Also, having Brody work for the CIA is the only way I can see this show continue. Unless they get rid of the character, but there's no way they're doing that. He is one half of Homeland, without him the show loses a lot of what makes it unique.

so was it roy that was hit by the veep's son? if she's in a coma or dead because of that, i'm gonna have to roll my eyes at this show (even though i love it!!!). i don't want them to stall out the storyline with that crap, although they've been moving things so quickly i don't know how the season will play out. look at me, complaining about entertainment i love.
This episode might as well have ended with Tina Turner coming out and singing "Simply the Best" because that's what this show is. So fucking great, why did I ever doubt it for a second? Every scene with Carrie and Brody is outstanding. I love that they've actually created a semi-plausible situation whereby a nutty stalker chick who works for the CIA and a brainwashed terrorist may actually find true love -- and we're fucking ROOTING FOR IT!
wow and fricking wow - this episode exceeded my expectations so much
I don't think the woman who was hit was anyone special. I can't remember who Roy is but after reading the AV Club recap and them just calling her a woman I am assuming it isn't anyone that we already know.

i rewatched the scene, and it definitely looks like roy/roya/that british news lady that works for nazir. it was a bit hard to tell from the angle and the blood, but it looked a lot like her. so if she ends up in a coma or dead or something, i'm gonna have a big frowny face for an episode i otherwise loved.
Why the hell would they do that? It makes no damn sense. I cannot believe the same creative team that gave us that interrogation would throw away everything on a blatant contrivance like that.
Lewis knocked it out of the park, and into a different park a few blocks down.
Excellent episode, but I do feel like the series is now at risk of becoming a lot more conventional based on the new setup. Hopefully they can throw us something that'll keep the excitement going strong in the coming episodes.
I think what will keep it great is the core question: whose side is Brody really on? Okay, maybe that's a bit conventional, but it's also pretty compelling given that there are such powerful forces at work on both sides of his psyche (family, love, duty, justice, honor, principles, torture-induced brainwashing).
So how is Brody going to last passed this season?
I'm getting a little leery about this show. The speeding by the VPs son was really poorly telegraphed in that you knew at some point he was going to hit something or they were going to be hit.
Also, letting Brody go is kind of absurd to me. I'm pretty confident now that he'll still end up assisting Abu Nazir.
Mmm I'll allow it, but watch yourself Homeland.

I feel like most of the major plot "twists" and events of this show have been predictable and, yet, it doesn't bother me. Not sure why...maybe just because the chemistry between Carrie and Brody is so palpable. Up until this episode I thought that dude was the creepiest guy I'd ever seen (especially the look on his face in the last episode when he said, "I seem to be pretty good at this...") and then, by the end of the deprogramming/interrogation scene, *I* wanted to hold his hand. Good stuff.
For what it's worth -- I don't think the lady they hit was Roya.
Yeah, it didn't look like they hit Roya, at least not to me. It would be really dumb if she was the one they hit. I think we're going to see a lot more of Roya this season, and I'm cool with that. I like watching her.
a friend of mine thought it was roya (and was nerd-raging about it on his facebook page), and it still really looks like roya to me when i rewatch the scene, but i really hope i'm wrong.
The one bullet missing thing made me laugh out loud. Brody just got encyclopedia browned. I love that he just goes home after shooting his partner and carefully places all his remaining ammo back in his case, with one little empty guilty hole.
i'm really glad that i was really wrong about roya getting hit by the car.
