They didn't say. When he came back from the suicide bomb attempt, he tried to retrieve the SD card from the hiding spot and it was gone.

Thanks. I just couldn't remember if they showed Walker (Walken? Wilson?) retrieving it or if I just imagined that he was the one who did. I guess it doesn't matter -- we know there are operatives in the U.S., any one of whom could've picked it up. Why it wasn't immediately destroyed is another question.

I wonder if there's a way to duplicate these "SD CARDS" things you're talking about?

I assume it was in case Brody revolted or stopped cooperating they could threaten to release the footage.

Maybe, with the cutting edge tech these guys have at their disposal. Still, that would stretch credibility just a bit. This show still takes place in the real world right? Not some Blade Runner-esque futurescape?

Look, my point was Brody wanted to erase all evidence of this video existing, and I assume the card he put in there was the only copy at that time (he wouldn't have left other copies lying around, and if he did he would've destroyed them as soon as possible). If Tom Brokaw had taken it, Brody would've found it on him and destroyed it after killing him. (Side-note: did Brody find something on Tom Sawyer after killing him? That now rings a bell.) But yeah, Tom Hicks could've taken it, copied it, then been killed and Brody found one card on him, but not the only card.

I should just watch that episode again. Fuck you guys.

I am worse than you right now. I don't remember half of what you're talking about. I am understanding "kill," "Tom" and "black guy." That's about all I remember.

Wait, didn't Brody leave behind the confession when he thought he was going to go through with the attack? And now Al-Nazir and his guys have it? Shit, now I have to watch that episode.

    Re: Homeland

no, brody definitely took the SD card out of the camera and took it with him. i think. maybe i shouldn't say "definitely."

i watched the entire first season in one sitting. it was awesome and made me super want brody to not be working with nazir. i also want him to get back with claire danes and have nice cabin sex all the time.

my friend told me the show is actually based on an israeli tv show, where israeli POWs returning from captivity with palestinian fighters is a lot more common. that would have a totally different political dynamic running through it and i'd love to see it. anyone heard of this or know the name of it? anyone seen it?

    Re: Homeland

It's a little confusing. He made the tape but it's unclear whether he made it in the event that he blew himself up or not. Partially because he doesn't leave a note or something saying "If I die, go to this spot to find the reason why."

But it also wouldn't make sense for him to make the tape if he wasn't going to go through with it. He's just creating more evidence against him.

A third reason could be that he made the tape as insurance for Abu Nazir. When he blew himself up, Nazir's people could come, take the tape, and throw it in the world's face. Like "Look even your own people are on my side."

    Re: Homeland

I'm watching episode 2 of season 2 right now and I have just been completely taken out of everything by the fact Carrie's hair went from dark brown to blonde between the time she met with Saul and them skyping back home. Or am I missing something? She didn't correct the lady when she said "You've dyed your hair," so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a wig.

I'm a nitpicker. But that's a pretty glaring error, right?

    Re: Homeland

It was a wig. I'm pretty sure they made reference to it or implied it, if not showed her fixing it.

As for the video, Brody clearly made it and stashed it for an Abu Nazir operative to pick up and give to the media, but when he aborted the plan he went to retrieve it to protect himself -- the fact that it had already been picked up probably shouldn't have surprised him (and maybe it didn't), but who actually took it interests me.

Ok, I bow to your higher memory Mr B. On an entirely different tack, I'm pretty gripped by season 2 so far. Was in two minds about how they could keep things going but they're doing a great job so far.

they're really stepping on the gas on the terrorism plot. i actually said out loud "no don't go in there!" like i was watching a horror movie. what's kept me surprised these first few eps, in addition to the ballsy moves to change the status quo (especially after a generic mindwipe cliffhanger), is the speed at which it is happening. think bro (Bro) could get ned starked?

meanwhile, the wife-daughter home stuff is really stalling out. seems like that should change soon though, as dude has been uncovered.

even money we see another car wash scene by the end of season 2.

i don't know how this show keeps going, unless they convince brody to re-double-flip to the US to help them catch nazir.

and i know it's dumb, but i'm still invested in a brody-carrie one true pairing. go make pale mentally ill torture-terrorist babies.
