Anyone in LA feel that?
Yup, my first one!
(well, second if you count that pathetic little jolt last year)

yep.. that was a good one.
According to MSNBC, it's a 5.8.
Like a dork, the first thing I thought of was "I wonder if they were recording this week's Never Not Funny when it happened?"

you people crazy. i'm going to walk up to the Observatory and watch LA drop into the sea. i hear the observatory will be spared.
That was my first Earthquake since moving here in January. It felt like I was standing on jello. Weird. I think trading frequent tornadoes for occasional earthquakes is a fair trade-off.
I think they've downgraded it to a 5.4. I've been in plenty of earthquakes but this is the first time I've been in an office with rollers. There's nothing like the workplace being turned into something akin to a choppy boat ride right before lunch.
Unlike the one in 94, i was actually awake for this one
I think the epicenter was under my apartment. I should lose weight. Sorry guys.
It's a little humid in Chicago.
Are any of you guys typing these posts under rubble?
I HOPE NOT!!
Hmmm...National news for a 5.4 earthquake? Kinda wimpy, LA.
I was on a business call to someone in Tustin. They stopped mid-sentence and said, "Earthquake... earthquake..." and I was thinking, "They must be sending someone from the office on a Dairy Queen run," and that the lady I was talking to was ordering the Oreo brownie treat.
When she said, "Get under the desk!," I figured out she wasn't talking to me anymore, and said, "I'll let you go."
As soon as I hung up, the floor beneath me started shaking. I was on the fourteenth floor of a downtown building which is above a metro station. So from what I understand, I was in a location that felt it worse than most.
I was evacuated, gave a ride to a friend who usually takes the metro home, and came back to my place. I wasn't afraid during any of it, no emotional or mental damage whatsoever, but my legs didn't stop shaking for a while.
And that was my first earthquake experience.
