And I agree with an earlier poster - the moment where Catwoman's helper asks "I THOUGHT THIS WHAT YOU WANTED" is so heavy handed and groan worthy it could have been from a christian morality play.

Nolan's crime really isn't employing political themes - the crime is doing it artlessly.

Am I missing something? It seems like Natalie gave some thought-out opinions on the movie and now is getting jumped on. I enjoyed the film, but it certainly had it's flaws and the sympathies with the wealthy were really obvious to me. I mean, there were extended scenes of rich people being pulled out from under their antique furniture, etc. by the faceless mobs and some pretty overt statements about it being awful if my memory serves me right.

Eh, I can handle it. People get passionate about movies they like. It'd be a lot worse on some forums. No one has challenged me to a street fight yet.

Still, I appreciate it.

The fact that most of the pushback comes from impugning my motives and other forms of argumentum ad hominem rather than defending the film on it's merits mostly just tells me I'm right. The same thing is going to happen with this movie as with dark knight - the shock will wear off and people will start to notice its flaws. It's bound to happen.

I enjoyed the movie. Plenty of it made me roll my eyes, but it's a movie where a guy dresses in a costume and fights bad guys. I guess I just enjoyed it for what it was.
