    Comic-Con International 2010

As far as I can tell the schedule won't be posted until a couple weeks before Comic-Con begins (July 22-25, 2010, with preview night July 21), but I got press credentials this year and am trying to find out from some of you who have attended in the past which days historically have been the best to attend. Do I need to figure out how to go for all the days, or would Friday-Sunday give me the majority of the experience?

Also, I recall past years had comedy events happening during the convention, but separate. I hope this year is no different.

Who here is going this year?

They're starting to release additional badges starting today. Get one if you haven't already, then go be a nerd. $100 for a 4-day membership, $35 for single day:

My camera and I will both be at this thing on Sunday, I hope there will be some nifty costumed folk left lingering about to take pictures of.

I would recommend going all days. They kind of all blend together with Saturday having a little bit more of a spike in crowds.

I'll be at the BOOM! Studios booth, they being my employers and all, for some of the con. I'll actually be signing DARKWING DUCK #1 on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 along with DW creator Tad Stones. Talk about an honor!

Just booked my flight and hotel for all four days. Prepare to be portroided, Valorie (and all other AST-ers in attendance).

Ian, I'll be sure to stop by your booth. I heard your interview recently on Inside the Magic. Very cool! It'll be great to meet Tad Stones, too. I've heard him a number of times on the Jay and Jack podcast.

I was going to go with the website I was writing gaming reviews for, and then my day job boss opened up my mouth jammed her giant fist down it, ripped out my vital organs and then poo'd on them. Which is to say she said I couldn't have the week off.

So luck you, ASTers, you don't get to meet me. Ever.

Some more preliminary schedule information if it helps anyone make decisions on when/what to attend: http://www.seat42f.com/comic-con-2010.html

James Smann, being in/near San Diego, can't you attend evenings and the weekend?

In all reality, probably. But the website wanted me there to do interviews all day all four days...it's actually part of the reason I stopped writing for them. They weren't paying me, and they got all huffy when I told them my boss that actually gives me a paycheck (which sadly I have to think about) wouldn't let me have the days off.

However, if there is some kind of AST-approved meetup somewhere, I'd love to meet you guys! And a potroid of my ugly mug would make me pleased as punch. So we should at least try to plan some kind of meeting type thing!
