    Re: Comic Books!

Just finished reading Batman: The Long Halloween which I thought was pretty cool. Then to follow up I read The Dark Knight Returns 2 which was terrible. I've enjoyed a lot of Frank Millers stuff, but this one was sucky. Going to the public library tomorrow to get Batman RIP

Loeb recently gave an interview stating that they wanted the book to be completely finished before it came out to avoid any delays. He said it would be out before the movie, so I don't think it's a priority right now.

Am I the only one who picked up Planetary 27? 27 issues in 11 years but they were all worth it.

I picked up the complete Rocketeer collection today based on my childhood love for the movie and a bunch of raves that Dave Stevens has gotten in recent years. Has anyone here ever read it?

Punisher #11 might be my favorite book of the year. No joke. Tony Moore is a goddamn man-mountain of artistry (the Man-Thing page is built to be iconic), and the whole monster conceit plays more to Rick Remender's strengths than "OH I AM FRANK CASTLE MY FAMILY DIED AND I AM ANGRY BLAM BLAM."

Have you read the new issue of Punisher MAX? Fucking Kingpin man! Fucking Kingpin!

Also, Invincible Iron Man is quite possibly the best comic book in the world right now.
    I'm in.

hey guys. i'm fairly new to comics, i've only been collecting since i was nineteen or so. lately i've been reading stuff like rip off comix, savage henry, those annoying post bros., etc. and i was just looking for some new stuff to read. i'm open to all genres of comics so any suggestions would be great cuz i'm always looking for a new title to start collecting.

YEEEEEEES to both. The Marvel bullpen is strong as fuck right now. Bendis, Brubaker, Aaron, Fraction, Diggle, Parker, Van Lente, all those dudes. DC basically has Geoff Johns and then some piles of shit. If it weren't for Jeph Loeb, Marvel would be unimpeachable.

I'd suggest digging through dollar bins.

I found all of Howarth's Residents comics between Mile High Comics and My Comic Shop. Speaking of which, Mile High is doing 40% off all issues right now w/ CHRISTMAS codeword.

Hey, just a quick plug for my own comic book. Disney and BOOM! Studios are bringing back DARKWING DUCK. I'm writing it! Read all about it here.

I'm having fun writing it, I hope people have fun reading it. The first issue (of four) arrives in June.

sorry it took so long to reply. generally if i can't find something in my local shops i will buy online. if i buy anything online i go to mycomicshop.com. they always have a great selection and i only buy from them online. i'd much rather support my local shop but sometimes i just can't get stuff there. and mycomicshop is an actual comic store in texas so at least it's not some faceless distro.

If you dudes got a minute a good buddy of mine is competing in the DC/Zuda Comics contest. His entry is pretty cool. If he wins, I think he wins $9 billion dollars.

Has anyone here read Breach? I'm fascinated by the premise, but it's DC and I don't have much patience for the DiDio/Johns universe.
