I haven't read the book, but I really liked the trailer for this, and was kind of disappointed to see it get a lot of negative reviews.
Has anybody seen this yet? Any good?

I am looking forward to it. Fight Club was slaughtered by critics and I really like that movie.
I saw it last night. Pretty solid film, with some very funny parts. For 90+ minutes, I resisted my bladder's urge to relieve itself because I was enjoying the movie so much.

I liked it. It's a lot lighter in tone than "Fight Club", more comedic, and ultimately it doesn't add up to much, but I thought there was a lot of funny stuff in it.
Don't go see this movie with your mom or anything, but if you can put up with sex scenes in a movie, you'll enjoy it, and Sam Rockwell gives a great performance as always.
After I saw the movie, I was interested to find out that it was directed by Clark Gregg , who is a character actor who's been in a million TV shows and movies (I think right now he plays Julia Louis Dreyfus' ex-husband on that "Old Christine" show). He's actually in the movie too; he gave himself one of the funnier roles.
People might remember him better as Agent Phil Coulson, the guy representing S.H.I.E.L.D. in Iron Man.
I wasn't that keen on the novel when I read it when it came out. Maybe I should re-read first? Iuno.
he'll always be calvin traeger from sports night to me.
Little bit awkward to watch with a crush, but still pretty enjoyable.
I wasn't super keen on the ending, but I liked the rest of it.
I just saw this last night, but had no idea what it was about going into it. It kinda caught me off guard at the beginning with the sex scenes but it was an enjoyable film, but I can't really explain why, probably because every character was interesting in a completely different way.

I liked it! It was really funny and also really touching in parts. I read the book, but I forgot The Big Twist, and enjoyed it anew, laughing at myself for forgetting it a little bit.
However, aenemaTron's anemavatar is freaking me out.

I was a big Palahniuk fan until Haunted. I finished that one, but didn't care for it. I couldn't get far into Rant and didn't bother with Snuff.
But I loved Fight Club, Survivor, and Invisible Monsters. These were his first three.
If you're going to read some of chuck's stuff, I'd strongly suggest picking up the three first.
I've seen him read live three times, and it's always been really good. His work really transfers well to the spoken word, and he has a good voice for it. See him if he's around, but show up early, the cult of chuck is mighty.
my opinions...
I agree, the first three are the best. I thought Lullaby wasn't bad. Choke was a blur. I haven't cracked Haunted yet.
Invisible Monsters would be such a great movie, but... couldn't be done. Maybe in 20 years, when felching is more acceptable.
I dislike just about all of Chuck Palahniuk's books and I didn't really care for Choke, but I might like the movie. Jixby was saying that he heard it wasn't too bad and he's a palahniuk hater as well.
Formally Max Geinachoff.
I too am foggy on the details of the twist.
It's one of those movies that is kinda cruddy up until the twist, and since the twist comes at the end it leaves you thinking the whole movie was good -- but it wasn't.
ALthough you could do a lot worse on a friday night than choke.
