Okay, a friend and I are trying to track down places that have carne asada fries in the Los Angeles area. I am asking for AST's help because surely in your quest for the perfect burrito (RIP, AST burrito thread) you've come across these monstrosities, no? Anyone have a recommendation?

I don't know about carne asada fries, but the best burrito I've had in LA is the crispy carnitas burrito at Alegria on Sunset. Its unreal.
I've never had anything bad at Alegria.

This dish is sometimes called “Tamale Pie”. We make ours with layers of sautéed corn tortillas, our special tomatillo sauce, seasoned chicken breast, creamy Jack cheese, roasted pumpkin seeds, rajas of Chile Poblano, Creme Fraiche, sliced zucchini, topped with black olives and baked until hot and creamy. Served with mixed greens and fresh fruit garnish.

I think the best way for me bring this thread back on track is to go into Alegria and insist that they add carne asada fries to their menu.

That looks pretty easy to make. Maybe you should set up a stand outside of the Tommy's on Bronson and Hollywood. When your potential customers come out of Tommy's with their fries, quickly run up to them and dump your guac and sour cream and carne asada and demand they pay you five dollars this is a good idea pardueOriginally Posted by dpardue
