I just watched it, so incredible. I also considered for a second how realistic it was for Gus to survive for that long but it quickly didn't matter due to how incredibly evocative that reveal was. That tie adjustment mannerism was fucking ingrained in him.

Huell was very specific about patting Jesse's jean's pockets. I think the easiest way for him to lift the ricin would be for him to take the whole pack and replace it with another. My question at this point is how complicit Saul was in the plan and I'm guessing... not very? I dunno.

Let's not forget how awesome Hector's death was. His eyes were all like "aww wait don't kill me, Gus-- YOU DIE!"

my guess is, walt asked saul to get the ricin cigarette off of jesse so that jesse would think someone had poisoned brock (gus or walt). but how did walt get the lily of the valley poison to brock, unless saul or huell did it when they delivered jesse's checks to andrea? how did walt ever get close enough to brock to poison him?

I guess I should amend what I said. He was obviously complicit but how knowingly complicit was he?

My only minor quibble is that, even though he wound up being right (sort of), it was hard to buy Jesse immediately turning on Walt and sticking a gun in his face after learning that Brock was sick in last week's episode. The reason it doesn't work is that Jesse thought the ricin in his cigarette is what did it, but Walt had no way of getting the ricin out of the cigarette and into Brock's hands (Saul's bodyguard? he's a buffoon*). It was too convoluted.

Frankly, it's pretty convoluted that Walt concluded that poisoning the kid with a different poison would send Jesse to his door to kill him, but would allow him to incriminate Gus. For such a mastermind, that plan leaves way too much up to chance (although, granted, he was desperate and had to try something) -- first, Andrea has to call Jesse about Brock being sick (okay, they're back together, so maybe this happens), Jesse has to link the sickness to poison (instead of just thinking he's got the flu), he has to realize the ricin is missing, then he has to (big leap) immediately blame Walt instead of himself (or Gus). (Although if he blamed Gus it would've served Walt's purpose just as well.) But I still say the most believable permutation, given the circumstances and Jesse's psyche, is Jesse blaming himself and never even considering Walt guilty of the poisoning.

* I'm still not 100% on how the ricin in the cigarette disappeared. Did Huell take it on the pat-down? Because I don't buy that, given his buffoonery. Am I forgetting a moment that would explain this?

Anyway, luckily that issue didn't affect my enjoyment of the finale. It just remains the only beat in the series that I didn't quite swallow.

Huell lifted it from Jesse. Here is what Vince Gilligan had to say about it(in bold):

I want to get into the mechanics of the plan that Walt hatched. A big deal is made in the previous episode about the chain of custody of the ricin cigarette. What happened to it?

I think Jesse had the right idea. I think it was lifted off him by Huell. When he comes to Walt in the previous episode, and Walt asks how on earth would he could have done it, and Jesse says, "The big man mountain security guard of Saul's just had to see me, and he pats me down. You got him to get it off of me." So having done that, he could've just flushed it in the toilet, because as we find out, the child wasn't poisoned with ricin, he was poisoned with something else.

And Walt was somehow able to get access to Brock, to give him the berries.

Yeah. That part's probably the trickiest part. I can't remember the specifics, but we worked it out in the writer's room. He technically had enough hours to do it. How he found his way over there unseen is probably a little improbable, perhaps, but not impossible, is the way we figured it.

I don't think there's going to be a greater episode of television than the episode when Jesse finds out about everything (Brock, Jane, etc). He's going to get some knowledge dropped on his head.

Let's all discuss our reactions to the Gus reveal. Here's mine:

"How the hell did he....wait....HOLY FUCK!"

I ran screaming into my kids' rooms, shaking them awake and yelling "What the fuck, you guys?!?!?" over and over again until the police came. Then I showed the cops the scene in question and they high-fived me.

In an episode filled with dozens of perfect moments, one grace note that sent shivers down my spine was the sound of Gus' chair scraping on the ground in Hector's room. The screechy noise started a beat before actually showing Gus with the chair, and I thought maybe the world was gonna explode or something. This show is flat-out unstoppable.

Oh, and add me to the list of people who have to eat crow about Walter poisoning the kid. I was worse than right. I was wrong.

Amazing finale, amazing show, amazing cast and crew! It's all perfect. Riveting as shit. I have no doubts at all that the series will end on an amazing note and I cannot wait......
