If he's eating for long stretches, it makes sense that he'd be sleeping through normal feeding times.
40 weeks is full term. Twins usually come sooner.
Huh. Weird. They told me that I was due at 40 weeks, but he was considered full term at 37.
Either way, I hope they hang in there and get nice and fat and strong!! Do you know if you're having boys or girls or one of each?

If he was big enough, maybe they felt that he was functionally full-term at that point. You never know what these craazy doctors are saying.
We're having one of each. Nailed down the girl's name, and like last time, completely at sea with the other one.
Crly, don't question the length your baby sleeps as long as he wakes up and acts normal. You don't want to waste those moments of rest worrying. Marlo has always had a pretty forgiving sleep pattern. It didn't take long at all before she was sleeping through the night or only waking up once.

Twins for 'Tron?!? Holy moly, man. Congrats on that double blast of wonderment (official Hallmark greeting card line). Hope you guys are getting whatever rest you can.
As for crly, I'll pass on what every doctor we've talked to told us about kids and sleep... there is no ideal and every kid is different. My kids have always gone to bed early and gotten up early. And they shed naps as fast as they could. We finally have our oldest (4ish) sleeping past 7a, but our youngest (18 mos) still wakes up at 5:45a every day, practically to the minute. Wide awake and happy as can be. Doesn't matter what we do differently, that's her time. So she and I eat eggs and run around and rock out to loud music in the other side of the house during our pre-dawn time. It's like Rocky, only more awesome.
Oh yeah I'm not too worried. If he were a few weeks older I wouldn't think twice about it. But he eats like a fiend all day until about midnight (since I'm off work I still have my old late bedtime) so I'm sure he's fine. He ate off and on for three hours straight the other day. Big guy's just getting bigger....

Babies be eatin'!
Hey Tron, I know this is nothing you don't already know, but I've had two different sets of friends have twins at around the 32nd week. They were tiny and had to be tube fed, which resulted in WAY more hospital time and stress than is desired, but all four of the kids were caught up within about six months, and none suffered any emergency problems. I do obviously hope yours make it to full term, but (as I'm sure you've been told a million times) the odds are generally weighted in their favor at this point. I hope the wife is ok, and good luck the rest of the way.
(congrats crlygrl -- its looks like you have a very cute burgeoning evil genius on your hands)
I made my friends a Team Stewie onesie for their newborn. Damn you all!
I'm behind the times again: Congratulations, erika. Henry is my father's name. I'm sure you had that in mind when you chose it.
P.S. His hands in that picture look like little writhing starfish. I mean that in the best possible way.
Thanks Sarah! It's a name that runs in my husband's family back to the revolutionary war era and I really liked it.
Those little starfish hands just learned to pull his pacifier out of his mouth as I watched. Plus, he seems to have excellent neck control at 2 weeks. If you put him on your shoulder he just picks up his head and looks around the room!
My point is... in the firey apocalypse that is sure to take place during his lifetime, my Henry will reign supreme, as he is incredibly gifted and has many talents that make him superior to other humans. BOOSH.

I'm still gonna eat them feets. nom nom nom.
I think you're looking for the Walking Dead thread.
I'll make sure to give him lots of knife skills training.

Together, we can prevent Idiocracy from coming true!
We'll just take the fact that this was too long and that you didn't read it...as read.
