My wife's 29 weeks today. She's tired, congested, headachy and insanely itchy. The babies are both about 3 pounds. Everything's going great. I am exhausted and want to die for a week or two. Wheeeeee!

    Henry -- Born 2/21/12 at 1PM 8lbs 9oz 21 inches long.

He's awesome. The birth was a bit dramatic and I needed an emergency c-section... NOT fun. But it's all worth it now that he's here!

And he's totally cuter than YOUR baby. xo

Haven't posted a picture of Simon in a little while...

He's almost 2 1/2 years old. He's insanely verbal (father's a comedian, mother's a lawyer...yeah, I'd imagine so) and a totally great kid. We're happy to have him around (though, he's definitely showing signs of being a two-year-old when it comes to his reactions when it is time for him to wash his hands for a meal or brush his teeth...)

I'm so happy for you, crlygrl...and despite the sleep deprivation, you've got wonderful (if challenging) times ahead!

We'll just take the fact that this was too long and that you didn't read it...as read.

    Re: The baby thread

Just FY'sI, as if this wasn't enough work, my wife went into preterm labor on Thursday and had to spend two nights at the hospital getting drugs to make her uterus stop being a fucking idiot.

They said they never see this happen more than once, so hopefully real labor won't happen for another 6 weeks. The babies have been armed with meds to help their lungs develop if they do come out really soon, but the biggest issue is that they don't develop the sucking reflex for a while so they will have to be fed intravenously or through a tube into the stomach and we really, really don't want to have to do that. Still, 32 weeks is kind of the cut-off for "not that bad" if you have premature twins. So they'll probably be fine, eventually, if they do come before 38 weeks (which is considered full term for twins).

Just lettin' ya know, if you didn't.

This photo isn't showing up for me. And if people aren't seeing it, something should be done, America.

I'm glad things settled down a bit! My little cousin was born at 32 weeks and he's a strapping 12 year old who is super athletic, etc. Just FYI

I thought 37 weeks was full term for regular babies do they like twins to cook longer?

Henry is going through a growth spurt at the moment and he essentially likes to eat non-stop. But then for the last two nights he slept 5 hours in a row which seems like it's way too long for a newborn, right?
