Thread: $1 + Paypal = Cancer Operation

    $1 + Paypal = Cancer Operation

My friend Elysia bravely fought breast cancer and survived.

Unfortunately - she needs another operation. She has Lymphedema in her right arm. This operation will cost her $25,000. She does have health insurance. This is a testament to our amazing, privatized, screw-yourself, health-care system. She still owes $25,000 +

However, Elysia is a realist. She knows that Lehman Bros. went under this week and we are not exactly the country of wealth that we used to be. But we are a country of hope, dedication to humanity and action.

All Elysia is asking is what if? What if 30,000 people got this email and each donated just $1 - that is less than the cost of a cup of coffee - not even per day, not even per week, just ONE TIME. Just $1! One time!

And all you have to do is convince more people to do the same and keep this going. It's soo easy. Let's prove how easy it is.

You can send a check for $1 to:
The Elysia Skye Breast Cancer Organization
    PO Box 4573
    Valley Village, CA 91617

OR use Paypal.com and send your $1 donation to:
    donate@elysiaskye.org
(You must have a paypal account to do this. http://www.paypal.com)

Now, if you don't want to tell ten people - then donate ten dollars! The poorer you are - just use your popularity to her benefit instead! (and vice versa)

I know you might be thinking, “Jen, how can $1 make a difference?” Well……$1 on it’s own won’t but it’s about word of mouth and faith and attraction. When I was unemployed and broke – I begged people to buy a $1 track of my comedy album so I could make money and people wrote back,’ Why don’t I take you to lunch instead?”? No. Don’t overthink this. Just give ONE DOLLAR and have hope that your 20 friends will do so and their 20 friends will do so. That’s it! J

Do you know Oprah? Let her know too!!

    Done and done.
    My momma had twin babies on one sweet summer day;
She beat one in the head, and I'm the one that got away.

Thank you so much everyone! Elysia is overwhelmed with the positive reaction she's received in her 30,000 people with $1 each campaign.

All I can see is - keep telling people. I keep getting emails from people who say, "I only have $5." I say, I only asked for $1!!! It's about word of mouth - telling 10-20 people whether on your blog or myspace or facebook status update. It's fun to see how many people one can connect with and that's half the miracle - it's not about how much. It's about awareness and passing the contagiously good message on.

I'm sure if health care keeps sucking - we'll all need the kindness of strangers at some point....
