This looks better than the book. I only made it through the first part. It was very wordy and the protagonist, I think, was supposed to derive all his humor from how unlikable he was. He just ended up being unlikable to me. Unlikable for hundreds of pages!

I am all about this movie. Michael Cera in a mustache has me all kinds of turned on.

If he did his job right, and the trailer has me cautiously optimistic, Youth in Revolt shouldn't be on that list (Nick is not a sweet character).

    That looked hilarious.

Definitely going to see it. Maybe I'll read the book before watching it.

I just saw a (I think) new commercial on tv promoting this that lists all the stars of the movie, and when it gets to Zach Galifianakis says, "Zach Guh-uh--gr--the guy from The Hangover!" I don't know how I feel about this.

It's really hard to say a name that is pronounced exactly the way it looks.

I hope everyone responsible for that commercial is fired, including the director and actors in it.

You look at "Galifianakis" and think "Galuhfahnakis"? What about the "i" that's in there?

Just saw that commercial. It's true that you might pronounce it "Gal-if-IA-nakis".

But still. Stupid commercial. Of course I'll go and see it, but that commercial didn't help.

A friend of mine is a movie critic and he said that something just felt "off" about the film. As in, it has an amazing cast and some funny moments but lacks something he couldn't quite describe without reading the book again...I still want to see it though because the source material + that cast= has to have some redeeming value.

    Hope this isn't Parade Raining.

Isn't your friend's job to put his finger on what's wrong with a film? To identify why it doesn't work and articulate that in writing? I guess I'm saying your friend sucks at his job.

Ha ha. No, I think I didn't do a good job of explaining what he said was wrong with it, combined with not wanting to spoil anything before the movie's release on my part. What he said was that it had a serious lack of story telling prowess. No discernible movement over-all in the story or the main character, and not in a cool "modern cinema" way...But he couldn't figure out if that was a fault of the book being translated so literally, artistic license on the director, etc. And frankly, since he review hasn't come out yet, and he may not be done with it, is it so hard to imagine that he'll be able to figure out his point of view between now and then? Just sayin'.

I just saw that commercial. I hated that part. I really hope he isn't known as "That guy from the hangover who isn't in the office or wedding crashers" forever.

The 500 people who visit this site are fans of Zach because of "Between Two Ferns".
Several million people saw "The Hangover". Chill.
