I honestly wonder where they heard that shit, that's bugged me for awhile now. I love Burt, but he and Rogan and whoever else was on that Rogan episode got some bad information somewhere along the line.
I agree with Burr in that the 'alt' community is basically the 'blue collar comedy tour' for college graduates. Just the number of 'our's and 'we's in the last few posts make me think it's less about seeking out what you actually find funny, and more about belonging to a club.
Why can't there be people who don't like Bill Burr in the 'alt' scene, just like there's probably Burr fans who can't stand the Birthday Boys or something? Burr's point seemed to be that when you make it an 'us versus them' thing, everyone suffers because it becomes a big safety net.
Hey, check me out. I'm a ghost.
I agree almost completely. Except with the "Our's and We's" line... at least for myself. I find a ton of stuff funny and I don't care if it's 'cool' or 'AST approved' (Which is a term I hate and I was thinking about today and every time that thread jumps to the top of the forum).
EDIT: Also, the only reason that bugged me about Burt thinking the alt community doesn't like Burr is if that would affect his decisions to perform in front of alt crowds... which when I think about it doesn't affect me at all (since I don't live in LA), so I guess I don't really care.
I think Bill Burr has a lot of cred for that wlhoe Opie & Anthony Philly thing. All my comic buddies in Chicago thinks he's really great and he does every shitty room in Los Angeles. He did Big Fish which can be a real horror show.
PS Loved the Agee episode.

Would anyone want to meet up for the Gramercy Theater show in NYC on April 7th?
"Ham & Egger" is my new favorite way to describe anything.
They use it in boxing as well. Just another way to call someone a can.
Put it all together and you get... ham and eggs in a can. Which really exists, for some fucking reason. Full circle! Thanks folks, you've been a lovely audience.
