he's on the Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend podcast and The Indoor Kids podcasts today!!! i love both of these podcasts
John Mulaney ep was real solid.
My rocky relationship with Pete Holmes' laugh continues.
Life is life, na na naa na naa.
Going to the midnight show tomorrow at 3pm yeah!!!
Ok, so are we going to talk about the latest live podcast? Pete is so genuine and did not seem to mean harm but, gah, that was really shitty. Glaser did a great job being direct and honest. Thought it was awkward, it was amazing listening. Anyone actually at the show?
Pete said they've talked about it before and Glaser seemed to be okay with it, but I do see his point about bringing it up in public. It's kind of a dick move but Pete didn't mean anything by it. I'm glad they reconciled. Overall it was a great episode.
That sounds genuinely weird. I'm almost afraid to listen now.
I totally got where Pete was coming from, having talked to Glaser about it before and considering Glaser being in a good spot now having seemingly moved past it. I guess Glaser had hidden depths and Pete accidentally plumbed them.
The thing between Andre and Gelman was even "better".
I get where Pete was coming from too, esp. having listened to the podcast. But, the reason Pete's career can function in more of a way that he controls is that he probably makes a shitload of money from E-Trade. Even though he does the road, etc., he doesn't have to except to feed his need to be on stage. I think Glaser resented being called out as a runner-up (even if they discussed it in private) since his career has functioned in some ways at a higher level than Pete even though it has probably been hard-ish monetarily. So, as he said, having an assload of money for VO work would have made huge difference to him and being reminded/humiliated? was not his favorite thing.
That said, great podcasting! Also, Glaser had a great bit at the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival on Thursday. Of course, it involved a sub.
I loved the Kristen Schaal episode. She and Pete played off each other very well.
It also helps that she's one of my comedy crushes.
Edit: Wow I view myself as a super critical dude, but seeing the vitriol some people have towards anything Pete Holmes or other strong opinions in the Podmass comments makes me feel demure.

Kristen Schaal and Jimmy Pardo episodes were both home runs. It helps they're a couple of my comedy crushes.
I wouldn't say "obviously intelligent". "Educated" perhaps, which isn't the same thing.
It's interesting what gets loved and what gets hated over there. There seems a general love of Earwolf and a general hate of Nerdist (which is only surpassed by a hate of Carolla).
What was up with Jon Glaser? He started the show grumpy. That etrade stuff didn't help. Then again, Pete Holmes is like an annoying fat ADD Christian kid drinking his first Gatorade.

Hot tub foot?
Glaser came off as a dick. I sort of don't get why it pissed him off so much in the first place, but either way when someone accidentally makes you feel bad and immediately apologizes...then you should stop being mad, right?
TV innit
I'm listening to it right now and completely agree. I was scared to listen for a while because of posts in this thread, but the drama is completely nothing. If Glaser hadn't reacted the way he did, I would have never thought that Pete's question was even close to inappropriate.
