Anyone see Marc on that "What the Week" show? He was accused of not having middle-eastern comedians on the podcast. He came back by saying he just had a persian comedian on the podcast.
Marc Maron on Pete Dominick's CNN show is promising in that Pete might hopefully appear on a future episode of the WTF podcast.
There is a link between the two as Producer Extraordinaire Brendan McDonald has worked for both funnymen.
Maz Jobrani was fascinating. The picture of the middle east he painted is radically different than the picture we've been getting. It's really cool that Marc got him in to talk about that.
Yeah, that was really interesting about Beirut, and the rules/breaking-the-rules stuff, fascinating.

Yeah, that was a nice interview, too. New subscriber to your podcast.
I love the eps where Mark talks to someone from outside the mainstream/alternative (read: predominantly white) scene. I'm so steeped in how the US comedy industry works now - even though I've never left Europe - that I really look forward to editions with the likes of Maz Jobrani. Comedy is unfortunately unconsciously segragationist, and so few of us (including myself) are willing to truly go outside our usual boundaries. So big thanks to Mark for ensuring that I never have to actually encounter these spooky ethnics for myself.
here's Maron on What The Week
It's deeply immoral and just plain awful of you to try and drag that person's name into the open by dragging other names through the mud — but I'm delighted you asked so I didn't have to.
I remain totally addicted to Marc Maron's WTF podcasts, and this most recent one with Adam McKay was really great. Adam's one of my favorite people on Earth, and I'd been hoping Mr. Maron would have him on as a guest one of these days.

I wonder if Marc will be eventually interviewing PT Anderson.
Found him. But now I feel bad and don't want anyone to harass the guy. Or give him the publicity he so desperately craves, as Brian says. But he can be easily found with the clues in Brian's email, so perhaps that should come down too if we really don't want him exposed.

Sorry if I was out of line in revealing details from that guy's e-mail. I removed those details from my previous post. The guy is obviously doing enough damage to his own reputation without my help. I salute Mr. Maron for letting him have it with both barrels without even revealing his name.

Really enjoyed the Adam McKay episode! I knew who he was but never paid attention to him, ended up liking him a lot and wanting to know more about him. In my head I guess I thought he was more of a frat guy type. Couldn't have been more wrong.
I'm not sure why he has to be kept anonymous. I doubt he even wants the anonymity. I knew as soon as Marc started reading the email that Dan Nainan had written it.
Dan Nainan has been bragging about being a financially successful comic that no other comedians have any respect for at least since I started doing comedy in 2004. At the time I was a member of an open micer forum called The Standup Asylum and he would start fights in that forum because nobody there respected his comedy - even though nobody begrudged him his success until he started his braggy but needy bullshit. He opened for Russell Peters at a Desi show and, after that (according to him), has established a very lucrative niche doing South Asian jokes for South Asian audiences. He'll also teach you how to make a killing in the market using put options if you ask.
You want to see his act? Here it is. Almost 900,000 views. Judge for yourself.
