Talking to Patton Oswalt Episode 3
"... let's just stay away from that guy, because he's going to disrupt our mediocrity"
haha
This podcast is the tops! Loved the Davey Cross interview.
It really is a good podcast. I can't think of many (or any) that had as solid a set of first episodes. Even without the guests, it's still top notch.
I thought Episode 7 was the best one yet.
And this is my favorite comedy podcast.
I'm only halfway through the second one, but I'm really happy with it too. Marc Maron is a consummate pro and he's always funny.
Sammy! Pretty funny that Marc's been using the Air America studios to tape the podcast. I wonder how much longer he'll get away with that.
Marc is the sort of comedian whose jokes help me make sense of the world. I guess I shouldn't call them jokes. Laughable truths?
Hilariable ponderings of a madman.
Marc reads my letter on the Todd Barry episode!
Quote:
Hey Marc,
Love your podcast and your comedy.
My WTF experience:
Today I was walking across campus when I saw a homeless man carrying a sign that said, "People wear art and put ugly shit on their walls".
WTF?
Does he still want money or not? I don't understand.
Please help,
David
quickly became one of my fave podcasts..
started listening because of the guests.. but marc's rants often end up being the highlight for me. gonna check out 'venus drive' from the library tomorrow because of the show
Just wanted to say that this show continues to delight me. The Todd Barry episode was so fun that I listened to it twice on the drive up to Solvang last weekend.
I wish there were more that listeners could do, as a community, to support truly outstanding podcasts like this one. I am ordering some Just Coffee today (a start!) and I hope other ASTer coffee addicts will consider supporting Maron's sponsor as well. I'm sure it's only a tiny bit of income to him at the moment, but maybe one successful sponsorship will lead to others?
I'm thankful for the show and hope it finds a way to thrive. Willing to do whatever tiny bit I can to help.
Coincidentally, they just launched a site with a "donate" button:

Just heard Episode 13... I hadn't known Jerry Stahl wrote the "King Baby" episode of CSI, which I've heard about, but never seen.
There was a man named Will Windsor in Phoenix who lived his adult life as a baby, 24/7. He had been a performer in Nashville and was an heir to the Popular Mechanics fortune. Phoenix New Times: "Baby Man".
I used to appear in a live "kids" show called "Uncle Sku's Clubhouse," (actually, with many adult themes, including lots of implied pedophilia and an occassional cooking segment where either people were injured, things got set on fire, or an attempt to make rock candy resulted in crystal meth) and one performance I was in the audience for had a cameo by the married couple from CutThroat Freak Show (sideshow performers who were also once a couple on "Wife Swap") and Windsor playing "Heidi," their "baby daughter."
I briefly chatted with Windsor outside the venue, he couldn't have been a nicer fella. I was sad to hear he had passed away under tragic circumstances.
My point being, I'd always assumed one of CSI's writers had picked up the "New Times" story somewhere and been inspired. It never occurred to me infantilism was something hoity-toity elites might be into.
Steve Agee on the Podcast today.
Interesting to hear that someone else has issues with random vertigo. For some reason, crowded restaurants set mine off.
I think Steve is lucky to only get 2 headaches a year. Yet he is unlucky because headaches make him panic and write out his last will and testament.
That interview was the best. I need to see the episode Steve was talking about right now.
