Stuff to look forward to in September

Ok, summer's winding down and September is almost upon us, and a lot's going to be happening next month. Here's a handy checklist. If anyone has anything to add to this list, feel free.

Sep. 2nd- Office Season 4 on DVD

Sep. 7th- Brian Regan Comedy Central special
MTV Video Music Awards (Russell Brand hosting)

Sep. 9th- Mitch Hedburg album- Do You Believe in Gosh?

Sep. 10th- Do Not Disturb premieres on FOX (Ok, not that exciting, but I'm going to stick with this show and see if it gets any better)

Sep. 12th- Burn After Reading (new Coen Bros. movie)

    Sep. 13th- SNL season premiere

    Sep. 16th- Duckman Season 1 & 2 on DVD

    Sep. 19th- Ghost Town

Sep. 22nd- New Chris Rock special on HBO

Sep. 25th- The Office Season 5 premiere

Sep. 28th- Simpsons/King of the Hill/Family Guy/American Dad season premieres
    Little Britain USA season premiere
The Life and Times of Tim season premiere

We've got a bit of a wait for 30 Rock; it doesn't premiere until October 30th.

I'm a fan of most of these. The fun is not knowing of which ones I'm not.

I'm interested to see the second season of

    Sept. 28th - Californication

because I'm sort of on the fence about that show.

If it's not just comedy, Dexter premieres the same night and Fernando Meirelles' new movie Blindness (based on the Saramago novel) is in limited release in September

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's popularity on hulu makes me wonder if the new season is going to have a huge boost in ratings the way Mad Men did. I hope so.

How popular is it on Hulu? It seems like every year it's going to be a breakout hit and then nobody really talks about it after the first episode. Mad Men's ratings have fallen back to earth since the season premiere, btw.

I am not sure if you were joking about this or not. But personally I think this movie actually think this movie looks like it has some serious potential. Am I alone in this feeling?

I know most people aren't fans on here, but hey: Mad TV premiere Sept. 13th @ 11:00.
We've been cookin' up some good 'uns.

At least the first half hour before SNL starts, huh? You'll be drunk anyways.

Nice. I'm excited for these two most of all. I didn't even realize that Superjail was premiering so soon.

I was totally not joking. Paul Dinello directing; Amy Sedaris co-starring; Chris Meloni, who was funny in Wet Hot American Summer and Wonder Showzen. Even though it's for kids, I bet it will probably be funny.

I'm going to watch MAD TV this season I think. I've been watching it for the last couple of weeks (mostly out of boredom during summer reruns), and I've been surprised to find it not that horrible. Bobby Lee is still on the show, and he really sucks, but the rest of the cast is pretty good.

I particularly like Crista Flanagan, who does pretty good impressions of people like Miley Cyrus and Ellen Page as Juno (She reprises these roles in "Disaster Movie"). This "Juno 2" sketch actually made me laugh a lot. The black guy from "Reno 911" (the "theoretical criminal"), Keegan Micheal Key, also has its moments.

It's not as good as SNL, and the writing still drags the show down sometimes, but there's talented people on there and I'll watch to see what Matt Braunger does on the show.
