The Proopcast has cemented its spot in my Top 3 favorite podcasts. A must listen. Stellar. Why aren't people talking about it? Listen if you are not. Discuss.

Pardo: So what?
Belknap: So...plenty. Sew buttons.
I love his podcast too. I've always dug his persona and attitude more than his stand-up, but he absolutely KILLS IT on this podcast. What a great monologist - I wish I could describe him and his podcast with the same poetic style he displays in each episode... For fans of history, politics, and culture. Go listen if you like Marc Maron's WTF.
If you are anywhere in the L.A. area you should really check out a taping of his podcast. Usually at Bar Lubitsch on Santa Monica Blvd. I took my mom with me - who is not fully aware of what a podcast is (and was not very familiar with Mr. Proops) and she walked out a fan. Bonus for the ladies (and men): he is super duper handsome and dresses impeccably. I personally think "Good Man" by Raphael Saadiq should be his podcast intro/outro song. Okay, off my Proops-groupie (Proopsie?) soap box. Good for you on starting this thread. Always wondered why his podcast didn't seem to get as much attention on AST as the other comedy podcasts.
It's in my top 5!
And it number 1 in the sub-category of single person podcasts. (bill burr 2nd)
True story: I once had a beautiful (but crazy) woman resting in my arms, and with the sweet airs of afterglow enveloping us the thought that sprang to my mind was could I sneak out of our sleepy embrace and covertly place an earbud in one ear to finish the proopcast I'd been enjoying before she showed up drunk at my doorstep. I relented to sleep but weeks later as our ill advised affair of several years ended... my own heart asunder, I thought to myself at least I will be able to listen to Proops when I damn well please.
Truthfully, as I last said goodbye to her the only thing keeping me from utter despair, the light at the end of the tunnel was that it happened on a tuesday and I knew there would be a Best Show on wfmu I could listen to. But I also knew that when it finished I would have Greg's whirlwind wit to keep me drinking well into the night.
<3 Greg Proops!

I'm a total caveman conservative, but I love this podcast. Listening to Greg is like listening to comedic jazz. Nothing is better than when he throws out a reference that only .01 percent of his audience gets. I laugh every time.
I saw Greg play in Cleveland last year and he absolutely eviscerated the city. He did a long stretch on the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame that had me in tears.
Finally a thread for the Proopcast!
I just love the rhythm of his monologue.
I started subscribing last month, but I'm so behind on podcasts, I haven't gotten around to it. I will try to push it to the front this week.
Proops' turn on this week's Dork Forest is, even by his standards, astounding.

True that.
The Proopcast has become one of my top priority shows, I listen immediately. I was a fan of Proops as a kid when my dad would listen to Alex Bennett and he'd guest-host, I loved Whose Line in high school and now he's a favorite standup. I want to blow a jazz fag with this cat in the worst possible way.

He's doing a live taping here in Austin TX the beginning of September, and I'm super excited about it, especially because I'm not able to attend the stand up show he's doing in town the night before because I have a show of my own at a different venue.
My Friday wasn't a Friday without a new Proopcast.
I love the show, although the question section is one of my favorite parts, and one of the things that distinguishes the show from so many others (and gives a sense that Greg actually has some kind of engagement, if not relationship, with his fans). The Onion's assessment is spot-on: he's getting bad about letting himself ramble too much, to the point where he doesn't really spend any time on the questions lately.
...this podcast is still great.

It really is. The new episode was recorded on the Lewis Black Comedy Cruise and consists almost entirely of his Proopitude, in all his magniloquence, descanting upon the conditions, the food and the clientèle.

Easily my favorite podcast. I am so excited to see the Proopcast live in Atlanta when I am down there in a couple of weeks.
So excited that he's finally bringing it to the Soho Theatre in London, he'd been in London twice in recent months so I was disappointed he didn't do anything for either of them.
Anyone else think his podcast is better than his stand-up albums? I've only listened to one proper album of his so far, but the podcast is so pure and he just keeps going and doesn't have to wait for the audience to keep up. I am astounded by his ability to keep up a fascinating one-sided conversation episode after episode. Yes he answers questions, but having to break for laughs from a comedy club crowd just means I get less of his rapid-fire awesomeness. Love this podcast.
EDIT: NOT dissing his stand-up! I practically grew up watching Greg on Comedy Central (and I even remember when it was the Comedy Channel)
Check out an interview with "The Smartest Man in the World" that I did for my website ...

Sing it with me ... "What the world needs now / Is more Greg Proops ..."
Enjoy!
