It's pretty sad, when you think of the effort wasted on animating something that's not funny. The man hours and money poured into it.
It was probably during the World of Warcraft episode that these thoughts came up in my head.

I never said it was the worst episode ever, just the most disappointingly lazy one to me personally, but thank you for answering the question "What would Atticus Finch be like if he had Aspergers and only cared about comedy TV shows and movies and not justice?" Jesus Fucking Christ, do you really just have no idea what the phrase "difference of opinion" means, Bill? Does every time someone dislikes something you like have to turn into you climbing up on the fucking cross?
You win, Bill. I didn't sit and watch the entire episode so I could thoroughly and properly disapprove of it, therefore my opinion is invalid. I also didn't listen to every single album the Barenaked Ladies ever recorded or watch every episode of Just Shoot Me before deciding I didn't like either of those. Now you can update the Excel spreadsheet column titled "Internet arguments I won by being a relentless autist who constantly shifts the goalposts until whoever I was arguing with got fed up and quit, meaning I win by forfeit."
"The wisdom and the the spiritual beauty within Roy Jr ... it's just effin sick!"
This is getting ridiculous. All I was saying is that maybe you might want to watch the whole episode before declaring it the "nadir" of the series. That's it. I'm not "getting on the cross" or declaring my opinion better than anyone else's. I also wasn't intending to turn this into a fight, we're discussing the episode and what I found funny about it and what you didn't. This is called a "conversation". Why the nastiness? It's perfectly fine that we have a difference of opinion about things.
Just like when people blasted me for having opinions about movies I haven't seen, the statement "I watched about a minute of this, but..." leads you to not starting off on the best foot if you're trying to argue a point. But hey, back and forth is what this site is supposed to be about. Apparently my posts come across a lot more combative in print than I intend. I don't see how listing what jokes I found funny in the episode makes me an asshole.
But the Lady Gaga episode was really fucking terrible, and all the things RDOD gleaned from it are basically on the money, if you ask me. And he didn't even get to the parts where different suggested hashtags appeared on screen while the episode played out. If only RDOD were alive to comment on the world of today

I'm with Jixby and Dutch. It sucked worse than anything has ever sucked. I consider it even worse than the worst episode of Two and a Half Men, because I would never watch an episode of that expecting to be entertained.
Hey, check me out. I'm a ghost.
There's more art can do than aesthetic sophistication and meta-parody. The Simpsons has always been about making fun of the awful parts of the world (which, yes, most of it is narcissistic and stupid and lazy and awful), but it's also been about reminding you that there are ways of finding happiness in the world despite its awfulness. I'm a little surprised you guys couldn't relate to the story of a loser/outcast finding redemption through art, but surely you can see how the message of loving yourself is especially relevant in a time of increased suicide, depression, etc. (among gay youths and otherwise). What you probably have not yet seen is that that kind of art is way more important and fulfilling than the kind of clever, aesthetically-sophisticated, smartest-person-in-the-room BS that you seem to be expecting. Gaga is a hero, and I was grinning ear to ear throughout this episode, despite a few obvious clunkers.
Yes, yes, yes...but I think we're all wondering the same thing: When the HELL is Justin Bieber gonna be on...???

Last night's episode was sort of an unofficial sequel to "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson", and I enjoyed references such as the reappearance of the Khlav Kalash guy, and the Twin Towers joke (Bart says to Homer that they should return to New York since they knocked down his two least favorite buildings- Old Penn Station and Shea Stadium)- a little darker then the show normally gets but still funny. It was also funny how they got back all the actresses who have played Bart's girlfriends on the show, most of them just to say a few words each. However, I don't know why they were trying to imply that Marge and Lisa have never seen a Broadway show before when they saw "I'm Checkin' In!" in the previous episode.
It's a weird storyline; Mary Spuckler? NYC? Going to NYC to find Mary Spuckler?
"Hey, Dubya."
They actually could have made something out of a sequel to the new york episode. But they failed. That episode was really awful. And Brasky that Khlav Kalash gag was ridiculous. Is there any talent at all left writing this show?
This was a funny joke last night:
