Scott Aukerman will start Comedy Bang Bang on the Web

Every December, when it comes time to vote on the best episodes/segments of the year, I realize I have no idea what's happened over the preceding year. I can only assume that everyone else either has excellent memories or keeps careful notes on every podcast they listen to. So in an attempt to be prepared, I'm going back and listening to the 2012 Comedy Bang Bang episodes again.

My point is this: this has been a terrific year for the Comedy Bang Bang podcast. In case anyone else has not been tracking the great episodes, this might help narrow down your choices:

Episode 148: Jason Mantzoukas and Andy Daly (12 Days of Oscar, Cowboy Poet, and Suicide Cascade. And that time Scott started singing "Wipeout" and no one bailed him out)

Like everyone else, I love Fourvel. But episode 148 is probably my favorite.

It always makes me laugh whenever Scott refers to "The Office" as "The Office: An American Workplace". For a long time, that was how the show was listed on IMDB; I guess it must have been a working title early on but I've never heard the show referred to as that anywhere else besides IMDB.

I think that was the show's original working title when it was reported in the press way back in '04/'05, but yeah, it's super funny whenever he calls it that.

Great job Monty. I also have 171 in there, when Martin Starr came in and was nothing short of instant perfection in the main guest chair, playing off of The Choctaw and flirting off of Ethel Branscome.

And as of today I have 177 in there, perhaps the closest to perfection CBB has been since 150. It didn't have the feeling of maddening genius that 150 and 148 have but Novak and Cenac were on top form with instant CBB chemistry and Key and Peele did so much with such a potentially limited premise it came really close. On the surface it's odd to say that with their addition-of-penises based bit they could be considered to have continually left the easy joke on the table to pursue a richer vein (yes pun), but that is what they did.

Noone else thought it weird Wyatt Cenack just left halfway through? Thought maybe that meant he'd come back as character, but nah. Kinda dickish? Dont remember him saying all that much before he did either.

I thought Cenac was funny when he was there. He probably told Scott that he had a prior engagement and could only be there for some of the time.

What was dickish about it? Do you think it was just sprung on Scott? It was odd that he took his leave in the middle of a segment instead of at a break I guess, but Scott didn't seem surprised to me.

One thing y'all are wrong about was what he was bringing to the show though. He and BJ were both playing along brilliantly. And to be clear, I don't say this as mere opinion, I state it as objective and scientifically verifiable fact.
