Ugh, I meant to bad rate your post and I accidentally liked it. I disliked it in actuality, Couldn'tThinkOfaName. And saying one guest on this show is or isn't as good as others is arbitrarily subjective based on what each individual listener looks for in these guest appearances.
Personally, I look for laughs. Guaranteed laughs, preferably of the "out loud" variety. Kroll brings that every appearance, and he brings it hard. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've listened to the Wittels/Kroll episode from last January at least once every other week and I still crack up and find new jokes, because the dude is so quick and smart -- you drop any reference, he picks it up and runs with it.
Are his characters as fleshed out with the dark undercurrent of Daly's? No, that's not what he does. Does he highlight the absurdity of showbiz figures like Adomian or Tompkins? No, that's not what he does. If you really like those things, then it makes sense that you really like those three, and regard them as whatever the fuck you regard them as, but you'd do well to open your mind a bit, and give "Great Big Ball of Hope" another listen, and tell me why this doesn't merit a "Best of the Best" ranking:
Otherwise, I regard you as the dumbest of the dumbest. Stupidhead, your opinions smell like POOP.
Also nobody is talking about the Sappity Tappity. C'mon, Scottabot, not even good enough for a b-b-b-bonus clip?
I agree that the lack of Nick Kroll on the best of was disappointing, the Mulaney/Kroll episode was my favorite of the year.
However, it was still a great year for CBB. I think I voted for 7 of the 10 that ended up on the countdown, and there were only 1 or 2 episodes the whole year that I didn't really enjoy. Those one or 2 I just regular enjoyed.
YEAH Sappity Tappity... what a bummer. That show got my friend to be a fan after two years of me telling him to listen to the show and he being a dick by not listening to the show until that show. (Show show show fo show)
Unsurprisingly most of what I picked wasn't in the eps, but it was of course still entertaining. That sentence comes off really whiney. Probably because of the word unsurprisingly. Oh well.
My only real bummer was that Matt Besser made no appearance. Particularly his Fred Phelps portrayal from "Booked It". And even more particular was when he became a shill for Sierra Mist.
Everyone remember Erma, Nick Kroll's "old lady" ? I liked her.
Eyes are the losers in the skies.
Just listened to the podcast for the first time. Love it.
The baby sneaking in a "Baba Booey" is one of my favorite moments.
Almost a month straight of PFT being on CBB. Love it (though looking forward to what 2012 brings us!)
Also, he's full because he just got done eating his shoe. He needs to stop making those bets.
Here's a shot from backstage at CBB this past tuesday, it was inspired from Rocky 2 being an answer on Doug Loves Movies.
