David Zucker of "An American Carol" fame? I'm in.
Information about this is starting to be added to IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0795461/
Storyline: Snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody, a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody's extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry, gets cut from the production and goes berserk.
So, this is going to be a parody of "Black Swan" I guess? That's...timely.
Ashley Tisdale will be playing Jody, while Lindsay Lohan is reportedly in talks to play Heather Daltry. Anthony Anderson is also rumored to be reprising his role of Mahalik, the character he played in SM 3 and 4, while Craig Bierko will be in this playing a character named "Dan" (I guess a different character than the one he played in SM4). Regina Hall also might be coming back from the dead yet again to play Brenda Meeks.
David Zucker and Pat Proft are now both credited on the screenplay.

Just a quick sidebar here so I can point out what an awesome track record Pat Proft has for writing funny movies. He is credited with the following screenplays:Pat Proft
.Police Academy (with Neal Israel and Hugh Wilson)
.Bachelor Party (with Neal Israel)
.Moving Violations (with Neal Israel)
.Real Genius (with Neal Israel and Peter Torokvei)
.The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (with Jerry Zucker, David Zucker and Jim Abrahams)
.The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (with Jerry Zucker, David Zucker and Jim Abrahams)
.Hot Shots! (with Jim Abrahams)
.Brain Donors (He wrote this all by himself)
.Hot Shots! Part Deux (with Jim Abrahams)
.Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (with Jerry Zucker, David Zucker and Jim Abrahams)
.High School High (with David Zucker and Robert LoCash)
.Wrongfully Accused (Hey, I liked it)
.Scary Movie 3 (with Craig Mazin)
.Scary Movie 4 (with Craig Mazin and Jim Abrahams)
Ok, he did co-write the "Mr. Magoo" movie with Leslie Nielsen, but 14 good movies and 1 bad one is still pretty good.

Lindsay Lohan has her eye on a scary comeback — with Scary Movie 5, that is.
The 26-year-old actress is currently in talks to star in the latest installment in the comedy flick franchise, according to E! Online.
Though Lohan’s rep tells Celebuzz that “no agreement has been signed yet,” sources say the Mean Girls star is game to join already-confirmed castmate Ashley Tisdale in the movie.
However, there’s also another actor hoping to snag a role in the film as well.
Reports also say that Anger Management star Charlie Sheen, despite being killed off in Scary Movie 4, is also closing in on a deal to return for the next sequel, which is currently touted as a complete reboot of the series.
If she inks the deal, Scary Movie 5 is the third movie Lohan will star in since her hiatus in 2010.
The starlet has recently wrapped Lifetime movie Liz & Dick — a biopic of the late Elizabeth Taylor – and is currently shooting The Canyons opposite of adult film star James Deen.
Scary Movie 5 is slated to hit theaters Jan. 11, 2013.*
*Don't know if this is accurate or not - The 4/20ish date seems more likely
oh no Lindsay you don't gotta do it this way
Why isn't Zucker directing this? Just because Pat Proft and his name are on it doesn't guarantee much. Sometimes all that means is that they wrote the first draft.
I'm sure Malcolm Lee (director of "Undercover Brother") and whoever else is going to go in and add a bunch of "urban" jokes to the movie- they did that in SM3 and 4 too, as if that was the reason that the first two movies did well. I guess it sort of made sense in SM3 because there was an ongoing parody of "8 Mile", but it made zero sense in SM4 (like the stupid scene where Craig Bierko and his daughter are trapped in one of the alien's spaceships and they look over and Chingy is in there with them for some reason).
I just don't understand why they are parodying Black Swan at this late date- seems like a really dated subject for parody, plus there are plenty of actual horror movies they could have used for inspiration (like Final Destination, Paranormal Activity, even Silent House, which would probably have worked with Tisdale as the heroine of the movie).
Edit: Sheen and Lohan officially confirmed

The Expendables 2 star Terry Crews has joined the cast of Dimension Films' upcoming Scary Movie 5, the actor told BlackFilm.com. He joins the previously-announced Ashley Tisdale, Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen.
Director Malcolm Lee (The Best Man) is working side by side with director David Zucker (the Airplane! and The Naked Gun franchises) on the new film. Zucker wrote and directed the third and fourth Scary Movie films and is also co-writing and producing Scary Movie 5.
The "Scary Movie" franchise, which lampoons the greatest in horror and genre fare, has grossed over $800 million worldwide.
Scary Movie 5 hits theaters on April 19, 2013.
Continuing in their efforts to spoof 2010's most widely known movies (?), there appears to be a spoof of "Inception" in this (including a DiCaprio lookalike?)
Also, Heather Locklear, Kate Walsh, Molly Shannon, and Simon Rex have all been added to the cast
Molly Shannon appears to be part of the "Black Swan" parody:

what a shitty birthday present
Hey man, I worked hard to get you that.
Katt Williams has joined the cast of Dimension Films' Scary Movie 5, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. The franchise comedy is now in production for an April 12, 2013 release.
Williams will appear opposite a diverse cast that includes Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Marisa Saks, Heather Locklear, Jasmine Guy, Angie Stone, Kate Walsh, Angela "Big Ang" Raiola, Sherée Whitfield, Mike Tyson, Audrina Patridge and Kendra Wilkinson.
Snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody (Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.
Scary Movie 5 is directed by Malcom Lee with a script by Lee and David Zucker.

It's probably not a good sign that the funniest joke in this trailer ("Oops, I'm sorry, this one goes in your mouth and this one goes in your rectum") is stolen from Idiocracy. Also, it looks like they didn't manage to get Regina Hall back for this movie; looks like her role has been replaced by Erica Ash from "Mad TV". On a positive note, that's a pretty good lookalike for DiCaprio they managed to find for the "Inception" parody. On a less positive note, THIS ISN'T 2010 and there doesn't need to be an "Inception" parody in this movie.
There has to be something better to do than watch let alone critique this piece of shit. Best thing that ever happened to these was David Zucker, despite his status as a 9/11 Republican. And even that said, these peaked in the first one when Sean Wayans got stabbed through the head with a boner.
It's strange. I mean, this is David Zucker, he hasn't completely lost his sense of humor. There have to be funnier jokes in the movie. I mean, there's a Paranormal Activity parody in here, and the punchline is that the security voice in the house ends up saying "bitch"? And that pan joke....not even really a joke. The trailer for A Haunted House is funnier to be honest.
I'm going to hold out hope, SM3 had some funny gags and SM4 was still at least watchable. But losing Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Leslie Nielsen is really going to hurt this movie.
The ludicrous amount of frying pans falling on the guy's head definitely feels like a Zucker/Proft gag but that's about the extent of their influence on this. Too much dated and on-the-nose pop culture references, not enough dummy babies slammed in doorframes.
Both SM3 and SM4 started with scenes with gimmicky stunt casting (Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy in SM3, Dr. Phil and Shaquille O'Neill in SM4) and in both cases those were the weakest parts of the movie. They started filming this year though, they could have been a BIT more timely in their pop culture references.
In SM3, there was a joke where Simon Rex's character is concussed and can't remember what happened, and he tells Anna Faris "I don't know what happened, (her son that he was babysitting) and I were just playing a fun game, and then..." and he looks down and sees the dice in his hand and jumps up and yells "Yahtzee!" and hits his head on a ceiling fixture and passes out. Now THAT was funny; this is just a bunch of pans falling on a guy for no reason.Originally Posted by Gluehead
