We have wildly different tastes. Those two are fast forward music guests for me.

Hot tub foot?
They actually did a live-action Family Guy sketch on "Mad TV" when Seth was a guest on there. Hopefully SNL's will be better:

I'm just throwing this out there, because I know Lorne Michaels probably reads this board and really cares what I think, but I think Alison Rich would be well-suited for SNL:

I first became aware of her when I saw her on "Bunk" a few weeks ago, and then I watched some of her videos online. I think she has kind of an Amy Poehler-Rachel Dratch quality, she's not afraid to be really ridiculous looking and goofy. Physically she is very similar to Dratch as well.
It looks like this "character reel" went online a few days ago, on August 30th, so maybe she is intending it to be an SNL audition?
A couple of these characters seem like they're tailor made for SNL. The "women's seminar" character could easily be rewritten into an SNL sketch. It's almost like an early Fred Armisen character, like when he did Ferecito and the safety guy early on. The MTV hostess seems like it would transfer well to SNL too.
I know, I'm sorry. I fixed it.
I liked her on Bunk too. I liked that show for introducing me to some NY stand-ups I wasn't as familiar with. Another I liked a lot who I never heard of before Bunk, was Michael Che. He's a stand-up so I dunno how'd he'd do on SNL, but he had a good set on the John Oliver stand-up show a few weeks back too. His laid-back, lackadaisical style reminds me of Hannibal Buress a little bit.
HaHa! I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was amused by that:
I don't think his expression changed the entire time he was on the show, made the crazy shit he was saying even funnier.
Actually I can see him making a good Weekend Update host if SNL ever wanted to break the trend of boring white guys doing it (sorry Seth!)

Neil Casey was just hired as a writer. A LEGEND in the UCB community as well as having one of the most infectious laughs in the game.

Neil Casey is one of my favorite UCB performers ever! Loved him in "The Two-Man Movie", and I've seen him in a few Asssscats and Death By Roo Roo in NYC. Congrats to him!
I think this may be the latest going into a season that we've found out if there are going to be any new cast members or not. I remember in 2008 we learned of Bobby Moynihan being hired really early, like in August. In 2009 , Nasim Pedrad and Jenny Slate joining the show was announced the first week of September, but that year the season started later in the month, on September 26th. 2010, same deal, first week of September we found out about Taran, Vanessa, Paul, and Jay, but the season that year also started later, September 25th.
This year the season is starting on the 15th. That means they start work on Monday. That's four days from now. It's really weird that The Comics Comic (or Splitsider, which literally reports everything comedy-related the nanosecond it happens) has not even had an inkling of whether there will be any new cast members or not this season. They're really keeping a tight lid on things this year.
Either they're not planning on adding anyone new just yet and are waiting on Jason Sudeikis to S or get off the pot as to whether he will return or not, or they're planning to add people later like Abby Elliott and Micheala Watkins in November of 2008. I find it hard to believe that with three high-profile departures in recent months and one cast member who clearly has one foot out the door that they wouldn't want to be hiring as many new people as possible.
There should at least be promotions to Full Cast Member, right?

I was under the impression that the rule was you spent 2 years as a FP and then you became a full cast member. So the only question mark is Kate. If everyone gets promoted and Kate is the only featured player in the cast, that would be a situation that hasn't happened since '99-'00 when Rachel Dratch was the sole FP in the cast for most of the season.
I'm really hoping that tomorrow we hear about some new cast members, otherwise the season's going to be starting off a little dull.
When people talk about Neil Casey, they usually talk about what an amazing improvisor he is but he's done some really strong sketch stuff too. The show that he co-created that's currently running at UCB might be my favorite live sketch show. i saw it a few weeks ago and then saw it again the following week.

I've seen Aidy Bryant a time or two - but don't really know her so well... but I've seen Tim Robinson a bunch and he is amazing.
They are both crazy funny, and also wonderful, kind human beings. This is great news for the planet Earth.
The first day of work on a new job is always a mix of excitement and anxiety. How much more does it have to be on something like SNL?
