I'm attracted to Rob Schrab when he's dressed as Mini Coffee. I don't know what kind of sludged-out repressed psychological quagmire is going on there.

I wish we knew whether Season 3 will be available separately or not. I am tempted to hit the preorder button on that Amazon link and get this, but I don't want June 19th to roll around and Season 3 comes out as a separate disc. I think all the other extra features are stuff that's already on the other discs.

Oh well, it's only 35 bucks I guess.

The price of this went up $10. I wish I had pre-ordered sooner.

    Official press release.

And, to those who were wondering, it doesn't look like there are any plans to release the third season separately.

Has anyone else bought this? The new extras on the third season discs are really great and well put-together. There's a nice half-hour featurette featuring a reunion of the main writers and producers of the show. The original pilot is included with a commentary featuring Sarah, Rob Schrab, and Dan Harmon, who up to this point had not been involved with any of the DVDs. And there's a ton of other great stuff too. Definitely worth getting.

I bought it too but haven't been able to watch it yet. I bought the 1st season when it was originally put out, and stopped when they split season 2 into two parts. I'd imagine if people aren't buying it, it's because they don't want to spend (whatever it costs where they buy it) for just season 3. but it seems like there's new bonus features on all of it?

I haven't put in the discs of the earlier seasons, but the packaging and listed special features are identical to the previous releases, so I'm guessing the only new special features are included with the third season.

Thanks for posting this. It's sitting on my entertainment center waiting to be watched, and I'm such a geek for special features that you've made it so I at least have to stop being lazy and put the third season disc in so I can watch the BTS stuff.

Re: Sarah Silverman Program Season 3

I watched some of the behind-the-scenes features on the 3rd season disc this morning. The writer/producer reunion featurette is really interesting and I laughed as Sarah introduced Harris Wittels as a "Phish fan". There are also some "audition videos" featuring a really young-looking Steve Agee that are worth a look.

The original pilot is a bit different than the episode as it eventually ended up airing (the episode where the batteries in Sarah's remote die and she can't turn off the TV ad for sick children). There is a longer opening credit sequence and a theme song with lyrics. Dan Harmon is kind of quiet during the commentary track and doesn't say much. I guess that kind of makes sense though, as I think he left the show shortly after the pilot and the show was much more Rob Schrab's baby.

Also, it is funny to see an extremely youthful-looking Duck (Doug) in the pilot episode, with a shiny black coat.

Dan Harmon was actually fired from the show. Go figure. Sad face emoticon.

I think in her book Sarah mentions that Jay Johnston's line about "I've seen things that could make you crap a book on throwing up" is a typical Dan Harmon line. I guess it's for the best that he got fired, since we probably wouldn't have had "Community" otherwise.

I've heard Harmon take the blame for being fired a few times but I'd really love to know more about what happened. I understand why it's none of my business though. From the sounds of it he just tried to run the show the same way he ran Community. Since the show had someone else's name in the title it didn't take him so long to get fired.

He would sometimes delve into further detail about the situation on his old MySpace blog, as it was happening and shortly afterward, though I don't know if those blogs still exist. I believe it was Sarah Silverman herself who was mainly responsible for firing him, and I think for a period of time the two were not on the best terms, but that relationship seems to have healed.

I think she said on a podcast (can't remember which one) that Dan was hilarious but that there couldn't be two crazy people (her and Harmon) in the room running the show so he had to go if the show was going to continue.

First of all, how awesome is Sarah? Super awesome. A Rabbi recently took her to task and Sarah Silverman's DAD gave it right back to him!! Sarah Silverman's dad is also awesome!

    Article

edit: huff po didn't quote Mr.Silverman;s initial response. Just his response to a response in the comments.

Take a look at the original article and both his comments are up top but in case they get disappeared:

"Hey Rabbi Idiot: Is your wife allowed to go to a minion or sit at the front if a bus or choose between abortion or birth. Take your false god and shove god up your judgmental ass. Check your wonderful bible and learn about your cruel god from a book you believe in literally.
