NEW YORK, September 24, 2008 -- Sarah Silverman's world is back and it's better than ever. Join Sarah and the rest of the gang as she discovers marijuana, brings a lawsuit against the country of Mongolia and finds her father she thought was dead. COMEDY CENTRAL's hit series, "The Sarah Silverman Program," premieres on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:30 p.m. A second premiere episode will air on Thursday, October 9 at 10:30 p.m., settling Sarah and the gang into their regular timeslot. (all Times ET/PT

"The Sarah Silverman Program" stars Silverman portraying a character (aptly named Sarah Silverman) whose absurd daily life is told through narrative and an occasional song. In each episode, Sarah falls into unique, unsettling and always hilarious predicaments, with her sister Laura (played by real-life sister Laura Silverman), her nerdy gay neighbors, Brian and Steve (Brian Posehn and Steve Agee) and dim-witted Officer Jay (Jay Johnston) never far from her side.

In the premiere episode, "High, It's Sarah," Sarah gets high for the first time, then leaves herself voicemails imploring her sober self to carry out her stoned inspirations. Some of these thoughts prove to be good ideas, while others definitely don't. Meanwhile, Laura and Jay have relationship trouble when Jay inadvertently lets the world know that he had a "nocturnal emission" as a result of a dream about a local news correspondent. Guest stars Garry Marshall and Missi Pyle come along for the crazy ride.

Sarah Silverman is a three-time Emmy Award-nominee and recently received her first Emmy for the wildly popular "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" video. Silverman made an impressive splash when the feature-length film version of her stage show, "Jesus is Magic," was met with critical acclaim upon its release in 2005. Silverman garnered rave reviews in the documentary feature "The Aristocrats," in which she co-starred along with 100 of the industry's most prominent comedians. She also starred opposite Jack Black, Mike White and Joan Cusack in Paramount Picture's "The School of Rock," among others. Silverman recently wrapped filming the independent feature "Saint John of Las Vegas" opposite Steve Buscemi and Peter Dinklage.

Laura Silverman is best known for her role in HBO's series, "The Comeback." She also appeared in her sister's film, "Jesus is Magic" and is the voice of Dr. Katz' assistant in "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist." Brian Posehn is best known for his role in "Just Shoot Me" as well as appearances in "Seinfeld," "Newsradio," and "Everybody Loves Raymond." Steve Agee's credits include "Jesus is Magic" and Bobcat Goldthwait's film, "Sleeping Dogs Lie." Jay Johnston can be seen in the film "Anchorman" and appeared in the HBO television series, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Mr. Show" and the FOX television series, "Malcolm in the Middle."

"The Sarah Silverman Program" Web site features highlight video clips from every show and a preview video clip each week, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes extras and a daily blog from the show insider, with stories, cast interviews and pictures from every episode. Also showcased are "Sarah Silverman Program" Animations, including brand new episodes of the hilarious and radical original Web series "The Adventures of Steve and Brian," "Fantastimart" and a Cookie Party game, with original voices from the cast.

"The Sarah Silverman Program Season Two: Volume One (Uncensored)" DVD is a completely uncensored two disc-set and will hit stores on Tuesday, October 14. The DVD features over one-hour of bonus material including the cast and creators at 2007's Comic-Con, animated webisodes, behind-the-scenes and audio commentary with the entire cast.

The series is based on an idea by Silverman, Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab (Oscar-nominated "Monster House"). Silverman, Schrab, Heidi Herzon ("Jesus is Magic") and Dan Sterling ("The Daily Show") are the executive producers. Schrab and Sterling also serve as director of some of the episodes. Gary Mann is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

Please watch! The first episodes is one of my all time favorites, and I'm saying that as a person that's barely in the episode at all. Gary Marshall is amazing!

You don't have to ask me twice. Or once. This show is the cat's vomeronasal organ.

Gary Marshall is without a doubt one of my all time favorite actors.

This plot sounds juicy as fuck. I love weed humor when it's done by smart and funny people (the episode where Brian and Steve try medical marijuana was amazingly hilarious).

I'm so glad this show is back.

Yes! I love the Steve Agee Program! The strike pushed this back so far that I almost went on strike until new episodes came out.

Hey, Steve- here's something you're probably not at liberty to answer, but it's just something I was curious about.

The little girl who played "Young Sarah Silverman" on your show- she was also in the kid's beauty pageant episode- was she a pain to work with or anything?

I just ask because last year she played Kelsey Grammer's daughter on "Back to You", then she suddenly mysteriously wasn't on the show anymore. Now it looks like the same thing has happened on the new Jay Mohr show "Gary Unmarried"- she was in the pilot playing his daughter, and in the second episode they replaced her with a different actress.
It just seems strange that she keeps getting fired from shows.

(Hey, I'm bored, and until good TV shows come back on the air, I'm just watching everything new that's on now)

Re: Sarah Silverman Program Season 2 (continued)

To my knowledge it was just scheduling stuff. She wasn't fired at all. Is that right, Steve? She could have been a real asshole. I wasn't on board for the pageant episode.

That girl was also in Superbad (as young Becca), on Dexter, and on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.

Re: Sarah Silverman Program Season 2 (continued)

Just scheduling. She was one of the nicest kids you could ever want to work with (Next to Harris). Not difficult at all. She makes another brief cameo this season.
