After about 15 attempts to combat the forward skipping on the first bit I just got one of these
which I took as a sign to wait for the DVD
Ordered the special, looking forward to it. Probably my favourite current stand up.
So are they gonna use the audio from this show for his new album?

AV Club interview with Paul
AVC: You Should Have Told Me came out on DVD, but no album, and there’s no album for this one as well?
PFT: Well actually, this one I did do on an album, and I recorded that separately at the Bell House in Brooklyn, and that was actually in place before I got offered the special on Comedy Central. Rather than just use the audio from the special, I wanted to honor my commitment to my record label, and they didn’t have to suffer and lose out because of this, so there will be a CD, but the audio will be different, and it will include a couple of different stories than just on the special.
AVC: When’s that coming out?
PFT: I think not until two months after the DVD comes out, so this summer.
Thanks Bill, I was at the Bell House-taping and was wondering if I'd ever get to hear it again.

I saw life's work live, it was great. I will be ordering the DVD. Paul is one of my favorite comics. I appreciate that taste is subjective.
Now, let's be honest. How awful is that cover art? Paul has always had great art accompanying his work, but this looks baaaaad.
lurking got old, yo.
I think it looks good and I will fight you on the internet.
I have inside information that the art for the CD will be fantastic!
So, about this special...
I was delighted to hear the Weird Al bit. It has more things in it than the last time I heard it! Now I can't remember where I heard it, because I assumed it was on a previous PFT special.

It's from Episode 23 of Comedy Bang Bang (then still CDR Radio). I just re-listened to it on Sunday after watching Paul's special. It's a really good episode, Scott was on the set of the Sarah Silverman Program (filming his role as Banana Cop I guess?), Paul is the guest host and Weird Al and Tig Notaro are his guests.
I talked to Paul about his comedy special and other things on my podcast, and you are free to listen to it but only if you want to:

My Dad is really sick. I mean, he's not at death's door or anything, but he's the sickest I've ever seen him in my entire life. Can't sleep, lots of pain, all sorts of really nasty nonsense. Been going on for weeks and weeks. Anyway, I just called him to check in and he had just finished watching PFT's special. It was literally the happiest and most lucid he's been in almost a month. He was quoting bits and laughing like a kid. Sounded like his old self.
So thanks, PFT, for curing my Dad.
One of the bits had me thinking "no wonder PFT is so good at the Leonard Maltin Game." Hopefully that bit is obvious since I don't want to spoil it.

The dvd has a director's commentary track of Garry Marshall talking over the special, not necessarily about the special, for the entire 75 minutes. It is hilarious so far.
