Thread: The "not worth its own thread" thread

Re: The "not worth its own thread" thread

I thought the John Hodgman fake facts were very funny, particularly "Jeffrey Blitz reports that he went to the school of hard knocks, where he majored in French literature" and "This is the first time a musical number has been written for a wolverine".

Tasteless joke I feel I can only post here:

    Oops, I forgot about this.

Yeah, these were pretty clever. But unless you were listening very carefully, you couldn't hear most of them; the applause drowned them out.

I have this really weird feeling that this is going to prove to be of huge historical importance. What begins with a bunch of Percy guys ordering a robotic sex doll, ends with a robot version of the million man march and a new amendment in which androids are given the right to vote.

Apparently there were no photos of Randy Quaid on file, so the AP elected to surprise Brian Posehn while he was wearing a fur coat instead.

He looks more like Warren Ellis

    Knowledge. The treasure was knowledge.

    Wait, what did you ask?

My friend from work went to two of these Dan Aykroyd signings. The crystal skull decanter is pretty cool $50 a pop!

Umlat is coming over to my place in a bit, if you guys dont hear from me later I would assume he has murdered me, made himself a sandwich, read the sports section in the Chicago Tribune, thought about a past lover, and drank straight from the soy milk carton.

Some one avenge me, or at least lend a helping hand to ghost me(I'll be the one in all white)

UPDATE: I'm still alive, or am I?

    BOO!

Re: The "not worth its own thread" thread

I just read this book. I recommend it to y'all. It's basically the story of the comedian's strike against Mitzi Shore and her club "The Comedy Store" in 1979. Also contains details of early Leno/Letterman/Richard Lewis, etc.

EDIT: I didn't know there was a "Comedy Books" thread, sorry. Read the goddamn book anyway!!
I thought I'd never say this in my entire life but...thanks Scammy.

    Also, it's been discussed and reviewed by several people in this thread;

Re: The "not worth its own thread" thread

Mentioned this on another thread, but thought I'd bring it here. Does anyone have a link to Colbert roasting Chevy Chase on Comedy Central from a few years back? I'm sure I could find a copy of the entire roast, but Colbert's bit was the only funny thing about it, other than the murderous look on Chevy's face throughout.
