New Norm McDonald show?

It’s been a while since you’ve starred in a TV series. Do you see yourself doing a TV show again?

I’m going to do a TV series on FX. It’s called “The New Norm MacDonald” show. It’s a new kind of show.

What is the show going to be about?

I can’t tell you because it’s never been done before. It’s very hard to describe, actually. It would be close to “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” or something like that.

Oh wow, this is just the best news I could imagine. The poor guy seems to have terrible luck with this kind of thing, but surely the network change will help his chances.

Anyone know anything about How to Pick Up Girls, the latest film project he was attached to? I'm guessing it died the same death as Court Appointed Attorney.

I'm excited. He seems like he's still really on his game. I saw him do standup a couple weeks ago and he absolutely killed. He also might be my favorite talk show guest of all time.

I was just thinking about how much I missed Norm the other day! Best news I've heard in a while.

I just got tickets for what will be my first time seeing him do standup live, so this is a pretty thick layer of icing to throw on that cake.

Re: New Norm McDonald show?

Well, it looks like this is still happening , according to Norm anyway.

Quote:
Express Milwaukee: What else do you have in the pipeline?

Norm Macdonald: Oh yeah, speaking of things that I'm not actually good at, I'm doing a television show on the channel FX, which will actually be funny, or it might be. I wrote it. Have you ever seen "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?" I like that show, and I think that's FX's only comedy, so they wanted a companion. I really like FX a lot; they don't give you very many notes or anything. So they're finally going to let me do something I want to do. It's called "The Norm MacDonald Reality Show." The premise is my career has fizzled into oblivion, so they give me a reality show, which I reluctantly take. So I have to date the Barbie twins and do all this weird, retarded stuff. Now I don't know how to drive in real life-my actual life-so in the show they teach me to get a license, but maybe they get Lee Ermey to teach me; you know, some twist. Anyway, so during the driving lesson, I accidentally kill the teacher. And then all hell breaks lose. I start to become famous again, and the show becomes a hit, and the trial starts. I get my fame that I didn't want in the first place. But there's a lot of funny stuff in it. I guess I'm telling it like it's not funny.

It was sounding not too good until, "I accidentally kill the teacher."

I missed out on seeing him do stand-up in April, so this'll be the next best thing.

I'm glad this is going through FX. Of all the networks out there, it's probably the best fit for Norm.

Re: New Norm McDonald show?

All Norm MacDonald needs to do is bottle the way he is and interacts in real life. Every hardcore fan of the guy knows this and I can't imagine the man himself hasn't come to this conclusion as well... so yeah, I have high hopes for this faux reality tv thing.

Check this out, you will love this:

Re: New Norm McDonald show?

Norm vs. Louis is a textbook Sophie's Choice situation.

Re: New Norm McDonald show?

Remember that Sophie said, "Take my little girl...". And Louis is a little girl. So I think Louis dies in this case. Nothing personal, Louis. Just wishing you an agonizing death.
